That's all we have for now though. This is Pratyush Rohra, signing off on behalf of my partner, Shashwat Kumar. We hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Goodnight!

00:29 (IST)27 MAY 2023

Right then. Gujarat Titans set their date with destiny on Sunday, taking on the Chennai Super Kings. It'll be one against two. Apprentice against the master. Defending champions against the four-time champions. Shall we say more? It's going to be a packed house in Ahmedabad on Sunday, and we'll be right here to take you through all the action, of course.

00:29 (IST)27 MAY 2023

Shubman Gill is the Player of the Match. Here is what he has to say: It's all about playing ball-to-ball and over-to-over. There was an over where I hit three sixes and that's probably when I realized it was my day. It was a good wicket, so we needed runs on the board. [Sixes] Not really a conscious decision. You keep wanting to grow as a batter but I believe that the belief is more important. Obviously, it helps when you're coming off runs in the international circle. Once I start well, I know I'm in. [Form in 2023] It's been a combination of a lot of things. Last year from the West Indies tour, I shifted gears. I was injured in IPL 2021 and was out for a couple of months. That's when I made some technical changes around December when I was called up for the New Zealand series after the T20 World Cup. [Expectations] These are all factors outside the ground. Once you cross the ropes, it's about setting the rhythm in the middle. [Best he's played] Yeah, it's probably my best innings in the IPL.

00:25 (IST)27 MAY 2023

Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans captain): A lot of hard work has gone behind the guys who have done well. It's just the reflection of their hard work. [Gill] The clarity he has this year and the confidence that he is carrying is amazing. He never looked rushed or not in control. It looked like someone was throwing down and he was hitting it. He is a superstar who will do big things for the franchise and even the country. Conversations are always there and it's lead with me. Energy is something I look for. Every individual takes ownership and it's great for us. [Rashid] He's someone who comes and changes the momentum. We've spoken about Rashid but sometimes, what he does, I'm lost for words. We have to play good cricket. Irrelevant of the result, if we put in our hundred percent, we can be happy. It's going to be a fun game to play.

00:08 (IST)27 MAY 2023

Mohit Sharma (Gujarat Titans): I was a bit lucky to bag the five wickets. It was a bit difficult. The way Surya and Tilak batted, it seemed like the game could have slipped from our hands. I knew when Surya was against me, there isn't room for experimentation. He already had 2-3 shots for every ball and that's what we had discussed. It's okay to concede sixes of length balls but stick to the plan. Once he was dismissed, we knew the game was in our bag. We've lost some games from those situations and have won some. So, we knew the game is not over until we're back in the dressing room.

00:05 (IST)27 MAY 2023

Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians captain: (On the score and Gill's innings) It was a great total. Shubman batted really well. The wicket was good - we thought they got 20-25 runs extra. With the batting line-up we had, we were very positive. We could not stitch long partnerships and we just lost our way a little bit. (On the pitch) We thought about giving it a good crack, wanted to be positive. We had to make full use of the powerplay and that did not go well for us. I thought Surya and Green batted well in the middle but we wanted one batter to take the game deep. Anything can happen. It is a good pitch to bat on but yeah, you have to give credit where it is due. Gujarat played well. (On having to replace Ishan Kishan because of a concussion) It was something we did not expect. He had a bit of a concussion. It was a last-minute change but as a team, you have to adapt to different conditions and different situations. Not going to look at that - just did not play well enough to win. (Biggest positive) Finishing third gives us a lot of confidence. Our batting was the biggest positive - some of the young players that came through. (On the bowling) All the bowling teams have been challenged this season. We had a great bowling performance (before this game). You have to give credit to Shubman - I hope he continues that form. (On David's batting position today) We have given Tim a certain role throughout the season. We wanted Vishnu to come in and play his game. It did not come off today but I am not going to look at any judgement that went wrong. Just that Gujarat came out on top today.

23:58 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Gujarat Titans won by 62 runs!

Shubman Gill - 129 (60) | Mohit Sharma - 5/10
Surykumar Yadav - 61 (38) | Piyush Chawla - 1/35

Game, set, match. Gujarat Titans will have a chance to defend their crown as they make it to another IPL final. It's back-to-back finals for them, this time setting a date with the four-time champions, the Chennai Super Kings. Having brushed aside the Mumbai Indians in this contest, they'll be going into that final on a high as they try to achieve what only these two sides have done - defend their IPL title.

It was all set up by their prince, Shubman Gill playing a stupendous hand to score a scintillating century. It was his ton that helped MI make it to the playoffs, and it's his ton that knocks the five-time champions out. He as batting on a different level and single-handedly helped his side post a mammoth total on the board, which proved to be too much for Mumbai in the end.

With some unfortunate injuries, they didn't get off to the best of starts in the innings with Nehal Wadhera forced to open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma. Neither managed to give the team the kind of start they would have wanted but Tilak Varma played a fabulous cameo to get them back on track in the powerplay. Once Rashid Khan got rid of him, Green and SKY did a fairly decent job to recover and take the game forward.

However, once those two were dismissed, the innings came crumbling down. Josh Little got the crucial wicket of Green to open the door for Gujarat and it was Mohit Sharma who made the most of that, coming in late at the backend of the innings and bagging a five-for, recording his best figures in the tournament. So, it's the Gujarat Titans who come out on top in a rather comprehensive manner in the end. Stick around to hear the post-game reactions.

23:57 (IST)26 MAY 2023

18.2 Mohit Sharma to Kumar Kartikeya

MOHIT HAS FIVE, AND GT ARE IN YET ANOTHER FINAL! Slot ball on middle and leg stump. Kartikeya lays back and tries to mousse it over long on. 23:57 (IST)26 MAY 2023

18.1 Mohit Sharma to Jason Behrendorff

slower delivery on a length outside off stump. Behrendorff drags it towards deep mid wicket for a single

23:57 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Well, the stage for the final is pretty much set then. The Gujarat Titans will have a chance to defend their crown at their home ground against the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. As for the Mumbai Indians, they can be incredibly proud of their campaign and to make it as far as they have.

23:56 (IST)26 MAY 2023

17.3 Josh Little to Jason Behrendorff

back of a length delivery just outside off stump. Behrendorff stands tall and punches it straight to the fielder at extra cover

23:53 (IST)26 MAY 2023

17.2 Josh Little to Jason Behrendorff

dug into the track on off stump. Behrendorff decides a week early that he wants to duck underneath it and does so without much fuss

back of a length delivery at the stumps. Kartikeya backs away and stabs it towards deep cover point

23:53 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Josh Little [2.0-0-20-1] is back into the attack

23:52 (IST)26 MAY 2023

That should have been curtains for the Mumbai Indians but they survive for now. Only three overs to go now, and the crowds are leaving already as well.

23:52 (IST)26 MAY 2023

End of over 17 (3 runs), Mumbai Indians 164/9

Kumar Kartikeya 1(3)
Jason Behrendorff 1(1)

16.6 Mohit Sharma to Kumar Kartikeya

OH DEAR! Slower delivery on a length just outside off stump. Kartikeya drops it into the off side and then indulges in a game of yes-no-wait-let's run. Sudharsan has all the time in the world to hit the stumps at the bowler's end and misses!

23:51 (IST)26 MAY 2023

16.5 Mohit Sharma to Kumar Kartikeya

banged into the track on middle and leg stump. Kartikeya swings like a rusty gate and only connects with fresh air

16.4 Mohit Sharma to Jason Behrendorff

full delivery on off stump. Behrendorff plants his front foot and powers it towards long on for a single

23:50 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Jason Behrendorff, RHB, comes to the crease

23:49 (IST)26 MAY 2023

That was a superb catch from David Miller. He covered so much ground before putting in the dive to hold on. Not even two overs in and Mohit has four. Can he add the cherry on the top to make it a fifer?

23:48 (IST)26 MAY 2023

16.3 Mohit Sharma to Piyush Chawla

FOUR FOR MOHIT! Another off-pace delivery on a length on middle and off stump. Chawla tries to tonk it into next week but does not get any sort of timing. Slices it miles up into the air. Miller calls early from long off, runs in from the fence and takes a smart catch!

Piyush Chawla c David Miller b Mohit Sharma 0 (2b, 0x4, 0x6)

23:47 (IST)26 MAY 2023

16.2 Mohit Sharma to Kumar Kartikeya

Kumar Kartikeya, RHB, comes to the crease

23:46 (IST)26 MAY 2023

16.1 Mohit Sharma to Chris Jordan

MOHIT HAS THREE! Slower delivery on a full length outside off stump. Jordan has not picked this at all and is way too early into his lofted stroke. Chips it straight down long off's throat, and MI lose their eighth!

Chris Jordan c Sai Sudharsan b Mohit Sharma 2 (5b, 0x4, 0x6)

23:46 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Well, we're into the last rights of this contest. Even the mighty Mumbai Indians aren't going to mount a comeback from this stage. As it stands, Gujarat Titans are heading into another IPL final.

23:45 (IST)26 MAY 2023

End of over 16 (5 runs), Mumbai Indians 161/7

Chris Jordan 2(4)
Piyush Chawla 0(1)

full and fired down the leg side. Rashid will have to reload that one!

23:44 (IST)26 MAY 2023

15.4 Rashid Khan to Piyush Chawla

full delivery on leg stump. Chawla plants his front foot and glances it down to short fine leg. The single is not on initially but an errant throw allows Chawla to get off the mark

23:43 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Piyush Chawla, LHB, comes to the crease

23:42 (IST)26 MAY 2023

The only question is, has David got some bat on it? That's the only thing that will save him here. He's gone and that's probably curtains on MI's campaign.

23:41 (IST)26 MAY 2023

15.3 Rashid Khan to Tim Da

HUGE APPEAL AND GIVEN! REVIEWED STRAIGHTAWAY! Back of a length delivery on middle and off stump that skids through. David has a massive swipe across the line and misses, getting pinned on the back leg. He has reviewed this but unless he has hit it, this could be a review burnt! Nothing on Ultra Edge and three reds on Ball Tracking! David has to go!

Tim David lbw b Rashid Khan 2 (3b, 0x4, 0x6)

23:41 (IST)26 MAY 2023

15.2 Rashid Khan to Chris Jordan

full delivery angled into leg stump. Jordan gets forward and tucks it off his pads towards deep square leg

full delivery on middle and off stump. David lunges forward and knocks it down the ground for one

23:40 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Rashid Khan [3.0-0-29-1] is back into the attack

23:40 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Well, Mumbai Indians need a miracle to win this game from here on. Needing 78 runs in 30 balls with only 4 wickets in hand is going to require something spectacular, especially considering the fact that Rashid Khan still has an over left.

23:39 (IST)26 MAY 2023

End of over 15 (7 runs), Mumbai Indians 156/6

Chris Jordan 0(1)
Tim David 1(1)

back of a length delivery outside off stump. Jordan gets up on his toes and defends into the off side

23:39 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Chris Jordan, RHB, comes to the crease

23:38 (IST)26 MAY 2023

The slower one does the trick for Mohit. He's got two in his first over and has probably put this game to bed.

23:37 (IST)26 MAY 2023

14.5 Mohit Sharma to Vishnu Vino

ONE BRINGS TWO! Slower delivery on a length outside off stump that stops in the surface too. Vinod has not picked it out of the hand either and is very early into the stroke. In the end, he spoons it straight to extra cover, where Pandya makes no mistake! Mohit has two in his first over and MI slip further into trouble!

Vishnu Vinod c Hardik Pandya b Mohit Sharma 5 (7b, 0x4, 0x6)

23:37 (IST)26 MAY 2023

14.4 Mohit Sharma to Tim Da

23:36 (IST)26 MAY 2023

Tim David, RHB, comes to the crease

23:35 (IST)26 MAY 2023

SKY stares at the ground in disbelief. He can't believe he's not connected with that. He's gone, and with him, perhaps Mumbai Indians' hopes are too.
