ATK would be half-happy at the interval as they could have very well been leading by 3 or 4 goals by now. After a quick start which saw Roy Krishna feasting on a mistake from debutant Sandip Mandi, ATK missed guilt-edged opportunities.

Apart from Jamshedpur's defensive mistakes, ATK got chances through corner-kicks too but Pritam Kotal couldn't make the best use of it. For Jamshedpur, it was a pretty scrappy half as they couldn't hold the ball for long and this meant that Noe Acosta and Sergio Castel were mostly isolated. Coach Antonio Iriondo would also be unhappy at the fact that the defense put itself under pressure on several occasions.
