Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the India vs Ireland game. The national anthems are done, and we are ready to get the match underway!

13:49 (IST)9 MAR 2018

India will be looking to take on Ireland in their penultimate group stage match 2018 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at the Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, Malaysia, today.

The Indians have been on a mixed bag of form in Malaysia this year, having suffered losses at the hands of Argentina and Australia in their first two group stage matches.

However, the Men in Blue got back to their winning ways on Wednesday, when they beat a resolute Malaysian side 5-1. Although this did not bring about much change in their rankings on the group table, the victory did put the Indians back in contention for a place in the bronze medal match.

There is also a slender hope for India to make it to the final, if they beat Ireland, and if Argentina lose at the hands of Australia, and if Malaysia and England play out a draw in their respective matches.
