Manu Bhaker finishes 5th, Rahi Sarnobat ends in 25th position on Day 1 of Women's 25m Pistol Qualification

A massive hurdle to overcome for Rahi tomorrow morning, as she looks to climb up positions to finish within the Top 8 and qualify for the medal rounds. Manu, on the other hand, looks primed for a good finish tomorrow, and a lot will rest on her shoulders for an Indian shooter's representation in the 25m pistol Women's final.

We've come to the end of the Women's 25m pistol Precision round of the qualification event, where Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat represented India earlier today.

Manu Bhaker has managed to hold on to her 5th position which she claimed at the end of Relay 3, while Rahi Sarnobat has been pushed down the order to 25th position.

At the end of Series 2 of the Women's 25m pistol Precision shooting, Manu Bhaker is in 5th, Rahi Sarnobat has fallen down the pecking order to 22nd.

There are 12 more shooters left to come in Relay 4 though, and at the end of their three series, we will have the final positions for the Precision Round.

The remaining 12 shooters could push Manu Bhaker & Rahi Sarnobat down in the rankings. Both Indians will be hoping that the Relay 4 shooters don't perform up to the mark, which could help them stay at their positions. Manu especially would want to stay at the top 8 after the Precision Round.

At the end of Series 3, Manu is in 5th place, while Rahi occupies 18th position.

Manu finishes with a grand total of 292/300 and ends the Precision Rounds in 5th spot!

Perfect last 5 for Manu! 10s in each of her shots, and she finishes with 98/100 in Series 3.

After 48/50 in the first five shots of Series 3, Manu commences her last five shots with two 10s!

A hat-trick of 10s followed by the first 9 of Series 3 for the young Indian shooter.

A 10 start for Manu in Series 3, and with just that one shot, she's climbed up 3 places to 6th!

10, 9, 10 to round up Series 2 from Manu Bhaker, finishes with 97/100 again!

A couple of 10s to follow up for Manu, and she's moved into 6th place with 3 shots to go in Series 2.

Top-class work by the young Indian shooter! She will look to live up to the fans' expectations and progress to the next round of the event.

Not too bad a start for Manu in series 2 - 10, 9, 9, 10, 10 in her first five shots. She's held on to 9th, but consistent 10s in her next five shots could propel her within the Top 5.

Manu finishes Series 1 with a good total of 97/100, and she's managed to cling on to 9th place as we move into Series 2. She's climbing up the ladder and a few excellent shots will see her break into the Top 8.

Meanwhile, Rahi Sarnobat has lost a few places, and she is 17th at the end of Series 1, Relay 3.

10 in the 6th shot and a 9 in the 7th shot, followed by a 10 in the 8th. Manu tied for 11th spot, as we write.

Manu is falling behind in the race. She'll have to aim for a 10 every shot as she looks to seal a berth for herself in the Top 8.

Manu Bhaker's first five shots - 10, 10, 10, 9, 9. The last 9 has dropped her down to 16th place.

There is no room for error today as it's a do-or-die even for the Indian.

Top start from Manu, she registers two 10s to begin her first series. She follows it up with a 10 and a 9.

Manu is currently in 5th place after 4/30 shots.

We've come to the end of Relay 2, and at the moment, Rahi Sarnobat is in 12th place with 287/300 from the Indian, who was a part of Relay 1.

PV Sindhu vs Mia Blichfeldt LIVE Updates and results at Olympics 2021

As we wait for Manu's Relay 3 to begin, follow all the live updates from PV Sindhu's crucial encounter against Mia Blichfeldt! 👆

Manu Bhaker is part of Relay 3, and we're currently awaiting the Relay 2 to take their 30 shots before we commence with the young Indian's rounds.

Right, so Rahi Sarnobat finishes in 7th place with scores of 96, 97, and 94 to finish with a total of 287/300. Not the most ideal results for the Indian shooter while comparing with her fellow competitors from relay 1, but there's still a chance for her to make the Top 8 with her 30 shots from the 30 Rapid shots coming tomorrow.

Rahi Sarnobat completes the first round in seventh place with 287 points out of 300. The Indian shooter has managed to stay in the Top 8 and will not want to slip in the rankings at any cost.

While Olena Kostevych continues to be at the second place, we have a new entrant in top-three. Nino Salukvadze of Georgia climbed up the ladder right at the end of Series 3 and is tied now with Minjung Kim. They have an aggregate of 291 points out of 300.

After the ten shots in Series 3, Zorana Arunovic has 99/100 points. She has dominated Relay 1 with an average of 9.867.

The Serbian shooter looks in fine touch as she is unstoppable today. As of now, there seems to be a spot in the Top 8 reserved for her.

Another 9-pointer means Rahi Sarnobat drops down to 8th position in the table. Her average drops to 9.556. Things aren't looking shiny for the Indian with just three shots to go in Series 3.

Rahi Sarnobat hits an 8-pointer! That's the worst shot of the day so far for the Indian. Her average drops to 9.6 with the fifth shot in Series 3.

Not the best shot from the Indian shooter. She cannot hit any 8-pointers going forward as that would cost the Indian a place in the Top 8.

Olena Kostevych makes her way back to the second position. She has hit 50/50 in Series 3 now to better her average to 9.76.

Manu Bhaker is in relay 1, while Rahi Sarnobat is in relay 3 of the event. Both shooters will compete in the qualification Stage 1 today and will compete in stage 2 of the qualification event tomorrow (Friday). The top 8 shooters after the qualification stages will make it to the final round of the event.

Five perfects shots to start with for Zorana Arunovic. She has an average of 9.88 now!

Good start for Rahi Sarnobat in Series 3. She has hit 30/30 with the first three shots.

Rahi Sarnobat stays at the sixth position after a slightly better series than the first one. She has an average of 9.65 with 193/200 points.

Arunovic completes Series 2 with 97/100 points. She continues to stay at the first position with an average of 9.85. Minjung Kim is in the second place with an average of 9.75.

Minjung Kim has made her way to the top three now. She now has 78/80 points in Series 2 and has improved her average to 9.722.

19 shots completed and Rahi Sarnobat is at the sixth spot with 184/190 points and an average of 9.684.

Kostevych and Diethelm Gerber continue to occupy the second and third spots. They are tied at 146/150 with an average of 9.733.

Rahi Sarnobat hits the 9-point mark with her fifth shot. She has improved her position in the table now, moving to the fifth spot with an average of 9.667.

Arunovic misses her perfect streak! She hits a 9-pointer with her 11th and 14th shots. But the Serbian stays at the top of the table for the moment.

The Serbian shooter looks strong to make it to the final.

Series 2 has commenced now. Good start for Sarnobat hitting the 10-pointer with her first four shots.

Manu Bhaker ended in 5th spot while Rahi Sarnobat could only manage 25th place at the end of Day 1.
