19-year-old Manu Bhaker yet again misses out on a very close qualification. Tokyo 2020 has been harsh on her. She backed up yesterday's total of 292 with a 290 today. Falling short of just one point, Manu would reflect back to the two 8's she shot in the rapid-fire round which sealed her fate.

A couple of 9's there would have taken her to the top 8. But then again, even in the singles and doubles fixtures earlier on, she took a lot of pressure on herself and came out short. Certainly she's got a lot left ahead of her and she should fight back and come out stronger the next time.

That's how this sport is, you're always gonna be left with regrets and heartbreak if you don't succeed. As Abhinav Bindra once said " We are talking millimetres here, and sometimes even a tenth of a millimetre like your hair, just one hair of yours. It can be the difference between a gold medal and going home with absolutely nothing."

Hidden in the shadows of Manu Bhaker was Rahi Sarnobat India's second competitor in the 25m Pistol Shooting event. Some might not consider her as talented as Manu, but she is equally capable and had the potential to make it big. Although, she could not keep her composure under pressure and was nowhere close to the top 8.

She had a decent outing yesterday in the Precision Round, scoring 287 and needed something extraordinary today to even be considered as a contender for qualification. Alas, it was not meant to be for her, as she could not better her record of yesterday and ended up with just 286, which was never going to enough.

All credits to her for her giving it her best shot, but on the day she was unfortunately not good enough as her fellow competitors and finishes her campaign, low down on the 32nd spot.

But nothing to take away from the duo of Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat. They have done their nation proud without a doubt, and they should continue to keep their chins up and improve from their mistakes. Both have the potential, but both succumbed under pressure and that's one aspect they could work on.

Well that's all from us here at SportsKeeda with this event, but while we depart, here are two articles we leave you with, which give you more information about our two champions, and what to expect from them in the future! Do keep logging in for other Olympic blogs. Goodbye and take care!

Manu Bhaker's Precision Round Score Sheet

06:08 (IST)30 JUL 2021

As we await further action, here's a small update on Manu Bhaker's position.

She has moved down to the sixth position for now, as Kim Minjung and Zorana Arunovic finish their rapid round with 293 and 288 respectively.  But Manu has yet to start and she'll have a better knowledge of what to achieve in order to push for the top spot. Minjung and Arunovic, both finish with a total of 584. Manu will have to be as precise as yesterday if not more to reach that mark. A little stumble today could put her place in jeopardy and make qualification even more difficult.

06:05 (IST)30 JUL 2021

It looks all but over for Rahi here. 573 points out of a possible 600 is never going to be enough.
