Honours shared as Rostov and United play out a 1-1 draw.

The home side were more than decent in the second half, as is their wont, and will take a lot of positives from that half of football. Meanwhile United came and got what they wanted an away goal, a draw, and no injuries. The less said about their performance, though, the better.

93' Jones punts it upfield, Ibra does well to lay it off to Martial, but that yellow wall closes him down. Zlatan has another pop, but it's blocked... Valencia motors forward and puts in an interesting looking ball that Fellaini gets neither power or placement on. Sigh.

91' THREE MINUTES ADDED ON. Pogba gets called for a foul on Noboa, and Kalachev can re calibrate.... but Gatcan ends up fouling Jones and that's that.

90' Rostov win a corner and the crowd rises in anticipation, but for once Kalachev's delivery is poor and Fellaini hacks it clear

89' Pogba gets the ball at the edge of the box, then flies into the box - only thing is he forget the damn ball.

87' Martial fouls Kalachev, more out of annoyance than anything... after almost gifting back possession, Kalachev lifts it Azmoun, but Romero does well to come off his line and gather. Gatcan then has a pop, and it's a good shot - but for the fact that it's straight at Romero.

84' WOOF! Great tackle from Smalling prevents Azmoun from running through on goal. From the throw in Erokhin runs rings around Young, but the veteran Englishman does well to win the ball back.

83' Pogba has been anonymous today. AWOL as they'd call it in the forces.

82' Kurdyashov is a beast. He absolutely levels Martial with a fair enough challenge that stops a United counter in its tracks.

80' OW OW! AZMOUUUUN! Another Kalachev cross pinballs around the box, and Azmoun whips around Rojo with a smart little touch but punts his shot out.

79' Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been absolutely bossed around by Kurdyashov and Navas, and yet again the Rostov defenders win an aerial duel with the Swede.

78' Ander Herrera gets booked for an ugly challenge on Poloz.

77' The freekick careens of Gatcan and out for a corner... which is rubbish from Young. Seriously, Jose, why?

76' Martial is upended by Noboa, and despite the Ecuadorian's protests, it's a freekick for United which Blind will take.

74' Kalachev gets involved in a spat with Mourinho - both of them look pumped up, and the match has been nudged a notch or two higher in terms of tempo

73' Sardar Azmoun is coming on for Alexander Bukharov and a ripple of excitement goes through the stadium. The substitute goes by the nickname of 'Iranian Messi' and I can't wait to see if the hype is real.. let's be honest youtube videos are no real judge of a players' talent.

72' It's all descended to a bit of scrapfest again, and Kalachev picks up a yellow in the midst of all this. He will miss the return trip to Manchester and that's a body blow for Rostov

70' Rojo does well as Poloz tries to break in behind the United defence. The clearance though is rash as he hacks it straight out of play.

69' Herrera attempts to unleash Martial down the left, but his pass is overhit and Navas hacks it clear.

68' OOO again as the excellent Kalachev swings in a superb cross into the far post that Young does well to protect from the flying Terentjev

67' Substitution for United as Mourinho seeks to establish an attacking threat.. Mkhitaryan off for Martial.

66' OOOOOOO!! Kalachev delivers a tasty freekick that splits United's defence open, but Navas can only guide the ball high into the stands.

65' Zlatan goes on a meander at the other end and wins a corner - which Fellaini heads straight at the keeper. For such a large man, the Belgian has got no discernible skill in heading the ball, does he? Chesting it, sure.. and creating general havoc, sure... but he could learn a thing or two from Andy Carroll. Or indeed Zlatan.

64' WOOF!! Bukharov and Poloz combine well to release Erokhin into the box again - the midfielder has a snapshot with the outside of his boot and it flies well wide.. but Rostov are looking dangerous here.

63' OOOOO!! Erokhin goes flying into the box after an excellent Bukarov lay-off, but Chris Smalling does exceptionally well to get a foot in and play the ball off the Rostov man for a goal kick. I say excellent now, but a split-second too late and I'd be streaming a string of expletives at the risk United's captain took.

62' Blind tries to play the ball over Mevlja and run around him to collect it, but the Dutchman simply doesn't have the pace to do that.

60' Ibrahimovic tries to force something into existence at the other end, but he's being marshalled way too well by Kurdyashov and Kalachev.

59' Christian Noboa goes into the book for Herrera handling the ball... Sure he accidentally stepped on the Spaniard's foot, but surely that was a foul FOR Rostov? The ref was blindsided though and gives it to United.

58' Kalachev, who is having a superb game, rampages down the right and cuts in before trying to pick out the run of Noboa. Rojo intercepts though and United move forward - where Young floats a hopeless ball into Medvedev's hands. MUCH BETTER GAME, now., I have to say!

57' Ibrahimovic forces his way into the box with a combination of skill, will, and just being Zlatan, but Cesar Navas is too old a dog to fall for his tricks, and does well to sweep the ball away from the great Swede's feet.

56' Rostov have roused their support now and the atmosphere is positively electric now. Mkhitaryan looks to turn it off by attempting to find Blind on the left, but overhits his ball.

55' Ashley Young tries to cross the ball and ends up sending it back to Manchester. WHY IS HE ON THIS TEAM? WHY?

That had been coming, and it's nothing less than what they deserved for the way they started the second half.

ROSTOV ARE LEVEL!!! Kalachev with a superb ball in behind the box, and Bukharov with the superb take on the chest and immaculate finish. Lovely, lovely, goal!

53' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALL!! BUKHAROOVVV!!!

51' Blind is released down the left flank and he whips a low ball into the area.. Zlatan lets it run across the box where it's met by Ashley Young. He is no Carlos Alberto (may his soul R.I.P.), though, and the ball smacks into the ad hoardings behind the Rostov goal.

50' Poloz is at the heart of everything good that Rostov are stringing together, but here he sells Kalachev short and United can recover the ball and relieve the pressure.

49' Rostov are playing with much more conviction now - and Poloz and Noboa combine to release Bukharov into the box. He is, though, accompanied all the way there by Chris Smalling, and United's captain does superbly to usher him out of danger before nipping the ball off him

48' OOOO... Poloz cuts in from the right again and tries to pick out Noboa who's made a decent run down the left, but the latter slips at the crucial moment and that's that.

47' Mourinho and the crowd engage him in some friendly banter; the Rostovites are loving this! Zlatan, meanwhile, has a pop at goal after working a foot of space for himself with some nifty movement, but his radar is off tonight and it's destination row Z for the ball

46' Rostov are known for finishing their games strongly, so watch out United... Gatcan goes down the right, and flings a cross into the box but it's straight to Romero.

That has been what every expert likes to call a "professional performance" by the visitors. They've got the goal they've come here for and will look to close out the second half with the minimum of fuss.

How PSG must be wishing they had Mourinho on their side for that second leg, eh?

47' Rostov move forward - their most threatening attack of the forty five, but the ball takes an unfortunate bounce off of Kalachev and it's a goal kick

46' Herrera picks Noboa's pocket and he passes it off to Pogba. The Frenchman tries to establish that surreal link that he has with Ibrahimovic, but Medvedev comes out smartly to collect off the forehead of Zlatan.
