Wow! All credit must go to Okuhara, even though she lost the point. The Japanese does superbly to reply to not one, not two but THREE of Sindhu's smashes! However, Okuhara loses her balance and concedes the point eventually! 15-17.
Sindhu challenges the umpire's call. She is claiming the shuttle went out. However, the replay shows that the shuttle dropped inside the court and Sindhu loses the challenge. 12-14.
Some of the rallies have been superb today. And here is one, yet again! It looked like Sindhu has nabbed the winner early on but somehow Okuhara sent the shuttle back. The two shuttlers then engaged in a long battle which Okuhara wins after Sindhu is unable to pick up a drop-shot. 6-7.
What a stunning rally! Both the players unable to get the better of each other and engage in a 26-shot rally! The rally ends with Okuhara hits the net. 6-2.
And Game, Okuhara! The Japanese takes the first game 21-15 after SIndhu hits the net. The Indian was following the Japanese closely throughout the game. However, Okuhara stretched her lead right at the end, ending all hopes of a comeback!
Excellent, excellent play by both the shuttlers! Sindhu makes Okuhara run from corner to corner. The Japanese does really well to save the point on two occasions. However, Okuhara is rendered out-of-balance in the process and Sindhu hits the winner. 14-17.
