#2. Ed Herman's Decision Loss

UFC Fight Night: Boetsch v Herman
UFC Fight Night: Boetsch v Herman

Directly in the middle of the main card was the fight between Ed Herman and Gian Villante.

The fight was one of the more evenly contested bouts, with both fighters getting a number of takedowns and attacks which disconcerted the other.

Herman looked more dominant for large parts of the fight. Again and again, it looked like things were over for Villante, who was cut open by Herman's shots.

However, every time that Herman hit him, Villante came back with some quick shots or counterattacks. As a result, the two kept hitting each other throughout, and though Herman was able to cut open Villante badly, there was no point where he was able to knock Villante out.

In the end, however, to Ed Herman's vocal displeasure, it was Villante who was given the win via Split Decision.

Herman made sure to congratulate his opponent, but at the same time questioned the judges' decision.
