Brave Combat Federation has announced that four major fighters will represent India at the upcoming event which will be a part of the Brave International Combat Week to be held in Bahrain.

The event will feature sixteen fights taking place during the fight night making it the biggest in the history of MMA in the Middle East.

All the four fighters will be facing international fighters making the addition more challenging and showcasing the next level of transition for the growth of Mixed Martial Arts in India. Mumbai had hosted the fifth edition of Brave Combat Federation where seven athletes of Indian nationality or origin was featured.

However, Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champion marks the second time more than a single fighter of Indian representation is featured in the fight card.


#1 Mohammed Farhad

Mohammed Farhad trains with Team Relentless in Mumbai and is referred as the prodigy of Indian Mixed Martial Arts. Farhad holds the longest winning streak for an Indian national in the history of Mixed Martial Arts.

The TKO streak of Mohd Farhad had been second to none in India. He will face Hamza Kooheji at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.

Mohammed Farhad also holds the record in Brave Combat Federation for the fastest knockout when he decimated Irfan Khan at Brave 5 held in Mumbai, in just 40 seconds. Known for his precise striking skills combined with formidable Muay Thai background, he will be facing a wrestler, which will make it an interesting matchup.

Farhad is one of the most complete fighters in India, who developed devastating striking power under the mentorship of Abdul Muneer and quality grappling skills from the coaching of Jitendra Khare of Team Relentless.

#2 Atif Mohammad

Atif Mohammad has landed in one of the fiercest rivalries in the sports world. He will be representing the Indian flag against Haider Farman from Pakistan. Atif is an Indian national who is settled in Bahrain.

He moved to Bahrain to train in the Bahrain MMA gym and later to train alongside KHK MMA Fight Team. Then Atif embarked on training in multiple gyms around the world, including the Patong Stadium Gym, Thailand and the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu gym in San Diego.

After a disappointing split-decision loss against Jomar Pa-ac, Atif has been missing from action for long and is poised for a comeback. Haider Farman also suffered a loss at the hands of Jomar Pa-ac from Team Lakay, Philippines. The match will be crucial in shaping the strawweight division in Brave Combat Federation.

#3 Hardeep Rai

Hardeep Rai became the first amateur fighter of Indian origin to secure a medal in the IMMAF World Championship. He is one among those fighters representing the Punjabi and Indian community in the England.

A tough challenge awaits Hardeep as he is set to face Alex Trinidad who is an Ex-Bellator fighter who is also a US Navy Veteran.

After making his debut at the fifth edition of Brave which took place in Mumbai, the welterweight fighter had been focused on his training. He had been training in JacksonWink MMA and is ready to make an impact in his professional career.

#4 Gurdarshan Mangat

Gurdarshan Mangat is one of the most controversial figures in Indian Mixed Martial Arts. After a groundbreaking rivalry against Abdul Muneer, Gurdarshan emerged popular among his fanbase in Punjab, England and Canada. Gurdarshan Mangat is noted as one of the most marketable athletes of Indian origin and had carried the fight card in India to the next level.

Lately, Mangat had been the focus of some serious attention after being in the limelight with celebrities like Russel Peters and Dwyane Johnson. The Punjabi community in Bahrain had been rallying for the return of the Saint Lion to the cage in Bahrain.

He will face one of the toughest prospects from Team Lakay who is the only fighter from the Philippines to score a win over a fighter from SGB Ireland. Stephen Loman not only defeated a fighter trained by John Kavanagh, but one of the training partners of Conor McGregor in his preparations for the Mayweather fight, Franz Mlambo.

As Mangat clashes with Loman for the Bantamweight Championship, it will be for the first time a fighter of Indian origin will be competing for the championship of a global Mixed Martial Arts promotion.
