5 fake martial artists that fooled the world

Dillman is a master trickster

The world of mixed martial arts is a dangerous place, as one mistake or one mistimed attack could leave you on your back staring up at the lights.

It's for that reason that no fighter should take their opponents lightly, and in equal measure, nobody should pretend to be something they're not. With that in mind, these five delightful people should probably take a good hard look in the mirror upon seeing the footage in these videos.

We aren't insinuating that they aren't legitimately tough or couldn't defend themselves in a fight, but perhaps they should've been a touch more confident about the subject matter before being caught on camera.

Fighting is certainly a tool that brings with it a lot of caution, but straight up lying to people about what they can and cannot do may be even more damaging.

If this is what they believe in their hearts as opposed to knowing what they're doing is wrong, then great - but they need to seek some form of logical help. MMA is a beautiful thing and it deserves to be treated with the utmost respect, which is something that these people seemingly fail to understand.

Perhaps they should try a sparring session or two with Anderson Silva. With that in mind, let's take a look at five martial artists that fooled the world.

#1 Kiai Master vs. MMA

One thing that a professional wrestler should never do is challenge a mixed martial artist to a fight, right?

Well, that's essentially what happened here when a Kiai Master offered a $5,000 challenge to say that he could defeat any MMA fighter that was put in front of him. Unfortunately for the master in question, his techniques revolved around the idea that he didn't even need to touch his opponent to subdue them.

Naturally, you can probably imagine how the actual fight panned out for him as the MMA fighter put him away within less than two minutes with absolute ease. The master was clearly taken back after he was hit in the face for the first time, backing up the age old saying that everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth.

From martial artists to a pathological liar.

#2 Steven Seagal

Some people may not actually know this, but Steven Seagal is a trained black belt in Aikido stemming back to his days as an instructor in Japan.

Whilst this is all well and good, the art of Aikido on its own doesn't really compare to the world that UFC fighters live in. Despite this, Seagal has claimed in the past that he taught a lot of well-known fighters everything they knew - including Anderson Silva.

When Silva finished Vitor Belfort with a devastating front kick to the face, Seagal was quick to state that he was the man who had taught Anderson that move.

In addition to this, the actor has made even more outlandish claims that would lead you to believe he was the creator of the entire sport. It may be entertaining at times, but it's also extremely cringeworthy.

Onto yet another man who doesn't really understand the idea behind speaking the truth.

#3 Jay Queiroz

Boy oh boy, this is a bad one. Jay Queiroz stated for years that he was a legitimate black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, however, a YouTube account entitled the BJJPolice decided to test out that theory.

After a number of videos that proved Queiroz didn't really know what he was doing, Mike Palladino went to his gym in order to confront the man himself.

Queiroz was like a fish out of water once the parade of questions came his way, and it became very evident very quickly that he had been exposed as a fraud.

It's worth noting that he could've done some serious damage to one of his students due to his lack of knowledge, and it further highlights how careful you have to be nowadays when it comes to selecting the right martial arts instructors.

We move onto something that's slightly more amusing.

#4 TV Reporter

If you've agreed beforehand to allow a martial arts master to stage a fake demonstration on your show, it might be a good idea not to completely ruin it halfway through.

This incident, in particular, occurred when a TV reporter was talking through a few acts that the martial arts master was doing when he accidentally destroyed the "bricks" that the master was breaking with ease.

As you can see in the clip the whole thing completely collapses, with neither man being able to contain their laughter.

On one hand, it's quite funny, but on the other, it proves that people within the media like this really don't care how they influence or impact the public. As long as they're getting paid to produce this kind of rubbish, then it's all good with them.

We conclude with an extremely controversial figure.

#5 George Dillman

George Dillman has certainly divided opinion over the last few decades, with his questionable tactics in the world of martial arts landing him in hot water on more than one occasion.

In order to test out the ideas that he had, National Geographic went to one of his seminars where they had a critic of Dillman's allow himself to try and get knocked out by one of his so-called methods.

It obviously didn't work, and Dillman responded by saying that the reason it wasn't effective in knocking him out was because the guy was a "non-believer". Now, we've heard some pretty ridiculous statements in the past, but this guy takes the cake.

How anyone can believe the garbage that he's throwing out to the public is beyond us.
