Nowadays, it is not that difficult to hear that UFC and WWE are on the same level as each other. It has become even more common with people considering the two similar forms of sports, given how WWE stars are trying their luck in Mixed Martial Arts, and UFC stars making the jump to the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.

However, the truth could not be more different.

The two sports forms are completely different. There are of course certain similarities in both forms of combat. Both require an immense amount of training and for the fighters to be incredibly talented. They are far from being as simple as some people believe them to be and require complete dedication if the performers are to be able to perform well in them.

The fanbases of both are in love with the concept and are hardcore supporters and advocates.

With such fanbases, the two often come head to head with both bases claiming their favourite form of combat requires more from the fighters and performers and is basically tougher.

In this article, we will be outlining 5 separate reasons why UFC is tougher than WWE.

#1 Fighters have to work against each other

In WWE, whatever else the performers are doing, there is immense trust between two workers. They depend on each other and work together to put on a performance that will leave the audience completely awestruck looking on at their in-ring work.

This is completely the opposite of what happens in an Octagon. The two fighters inside the cage have to enter it knowing they are completely alone there.

Not for no reason is it that they talk about how the Octagon is the most lonely place in the world.

They have to work by themselves while still looking to put on a show, but give more priority to actually surviving inside the Octagon.

#2 Weight Cuts

One of the major problems which put a lot of stress on fighters in the UFC are the weight cuts they must undergo. Unfortunately for them, the fights are not 'come as you are' and they have to fit into the weight class of the division in which they are competing.

The entire process is extremely complicated, and losing weight is not easy at all. As a result, often there are many difficulties associated with it. People have an easier time facing the prospect of losing a large amount of weight in a small time. However, that was exactly what they were forced to do.

Remaining healthy after such a process and actually entering an Octagon to fight another trained professional is not something to scoff at.

This is something WWE stars don't have to encounter, as some UFC stars even encounter health problems due to such drastic weight cuts.

#3 Uncertainty in length of career

Entering an Octagon is not the best way for a person to ensure that they have a long healthy life.

In fact, an Octagon is a place where a person is battered continuously by their opponent who is intent on beating them up physically.

The same can be said for WWE, as in WWE the body of the Superstars takes a lot of punishment. They have to drop off high heights and perform bumps which no untrained person should ever attempt for any reason. However, when they are in the ring, they are working with their opponents, and the spots are measured to be safe with all precautions taken.

In an Octagon, however, after just a few fights, one blow can be the difference between life and death -- something which has been seen outside UFC, where professionals have even died during a fight.

#4 Length of rounds

In a WWE match, the length of the matches are pre-determined and the officials inside and outside the ring signal to the stars letting them know how long they have to perform. Even so, inside the ring, they have rest holds which allow them to take small breaks in between moves and high spots.

This allows the wrestlers to rest and catch their breath.

In the UFC, although there are breaks in between the rounds they are hardly enough for a person to recover. Even with all their bodies aching from the blows they have taken in the previous rounds they must fight on.

15 minutes of actual fighting is extremely exhausting, and in the case of the main event, 25 minutes, is a remarkable amount of time for two individuals to continue battering each other inside the Octagon. Despite losing breath they have to continue and that's not something people are always capable of.

#5 Incapacitating your opponent

WWE is all about working with your opponent. The wrestlers are often friends and they respect each other greatly and do their best to bring their performance to such a level where they cannot hurt each other, let alone cause the other person an injury.

In UFC, that's exactly the objective.

In UFC too, in most cases, fighters have a lot respect for each other. However, the objective is, if the fight is not to go to a decision, then the person must be able to knock out their opponent.

Even if a person is extremely tough, it is not easy for a person to bring themselves to such a place where they can knock out the person in front of them, or at least cause them enough pain so that they have to submit and be unable to continue.

Thus UFC remains an incredibly tough form of sport, which in many ways is actually tougher than WWE.
