UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor

One of the largest and by far the most popular destination for UFC fighters around the world, UFC has risen to a great deal of prominence, especially in the last decade. Much like WWE in the pro-wrestling business, the UFC has become the go-to brand for most Mixed Martial Arts fighters.

With UFC Fight Nights, and UFC Pay-per-view Shows, the company puts up three shows a month, sometimes even four. Conor McGregor, Anderson Silva etc. are just some of the big names in Mixed Martial Arts who are associated with the company, and as such are huge draws for their card.

The upcoming fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most hyped fights and is sure to bring in millions of views. With all of this going for them, UFC certainly has a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

Naturally, doing as well as they are doing, UFC fights its fighters well. They put their bodies on the line and risk injury to win their fights, and training takes considerable effort as well. Given all of what they do, they deserve proper recompensation.

Some of the stars are millionaires with just a few fights under their belts, while the wealth of others have accumulated over-time. In this list, we will talk about five of the richest UFC fighters as of 2018.

#5 Anderson Silva

When it comes to Anderson Silva, there is no doubt that the fighter is a legend when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts. Not only is he immensely capable, the Brazilian professional is a holder of the longest title streak in UFC, when he won 16 fights in a row, and among those, 10 were title defences.

After problems with USADA and a failed drug test, Anderson Silva will be free to resume fighting in UFC as soon as November of 2018. He has a net worth of $18 Million as of 2018.

#4 BJ Penn

BJ Penn, also known as Jay Dee Penn, is a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jutsu and a huge part of the UFC. Fighting in Mixed Martial Arts since 1997, he first came to UFC in 2001. He left the company in 2004 after having lost his first-ever UFC Championship there, and then returned to the company in 2006.

He would win the UFC Lightweight Championship numerous times over the span of his career. Unfortunately, his career of late has not been much to look back on, as he lost the last five fights that he was a part of.

His last fight was in 2017 when he lost to Dennis Siver. He was inducted into the inaugural UFC Hall of Fame earlier this year.

Penn is one of the richest fighters in UFC history, as $22 Million.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Although not strictly only an MMA Fighter, Brock Lesnar has been looking to make his return to UFC for quite a while now. The Beast was an unstoppable force in his tenure with the company.

He joined in 2008, before leaving again in 2011 to fight in WWE. He changed his approach in the wrestling company, using the skills learnt during his time with UFC. He would return to Mix Martial Arts again in 2016 when he faced Mark Hunt, but due to problems with drug testing, his win over Hunt was overruled.

After having finally lost the Universal Title, Lesnar is expected to return to UFC to face the UFC Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier. The two faced off in the Octagon after Cormier's win, and after Brock is cleared by the USADA post-January, he will be able to compete once again.

Lesnar is valued at $22 Millon.

Georges St-Pierre, better known as GSP is one of the most famous UFC fighters of all time. Not only well-known, considered to be the best MMA fighter of all time, GSP has had an illustrious career in the business.

He made his debut for the company at UFC 46 in 2004 and immediately made a huge impact by defeating one of the higher ranked fighters, Karo Parisyan. He went on a hiatus following numerous injuries in 2013, before returning to the company in 2017. He holds a record of 26 wins and only 2 losses throughout his career, and although he was reportedly interested in fighting the winner of the Conor and Khabib fight, Dana White revealed that this would not be happening.

He is also one of the richest UFC Fighters in the world, with a valuation of $25 Million.

By far the richest UFC and Mixed Martial Arts fighter of all time, Conor McGregor is the biggest sensation in fight sports in recent times.

Although he lost his last outing against Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, the loss came in boxing, so it is something that the fans are willing to overlook.

McGregor is set to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov upon his return to the company at the next UFC pay-per-view, UFC 229.

McGregor is one of the top talents to be in the UFC and was even a Two-Division Champion, having won both the Featherweight and the Lightweight Title. He has lost only 3 of his 24 professional matches, and he will be looking to make his 25th professional fight a huge win against Khabib.
