3 Indian fighters to participate in IMMAF World Amateur MMA Championship

The World Championships of Amateur MMA taking place in Las Vegas from the 5th to 10th of July sees the participation of the Indian contingent comprising 3 fighters. The following is a press release put out by All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA) regarding the same.

Sub: Team India squad announced for IMMAF World Amateur MMA Championship

Team India MMA athletes are all set for IMMAF world Amateur Championship-2016 under the patronage of All India Mixed Martial Arts Association. This event is being held at UFC Fight Week, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

This event is the highest level of opportunity for Amateur MMA athletes, and would bring a lot of pride to our country and help these athletes to move up to the next level in their career.

The third instalment of IMMAF’s prestigious 5-day tournament will be broadcast on UFC FIGHT PASS and international television as part of ongoing broadcast partnerships. AIMMAA Team India will be represented by 3 athletes, 2 officials and 2 board members

1) Kru Samuel Lalrozâma Hmar - Featherweight athlete and Team India coach

2) Rohan Singh - Featherweight

3) Sensei Manish Shikhare - Lightweight

The technical officials representing the country are Shihan Sharif Bapu and Prasad Gaitonde.

The IMMAF Annual General Assembly will be held in Las Vegas and will be attended by AIMMAA board members Daniel Isaac and Alan Fenandes. AIMMAA is also glad to announce that SONY ESPN has sponsored team India athletes Samuel Lalrozama and Rohan Singh.

Athlete Manish Shikhare received sponsorship from private sponsors.
