Rumble - Bader set for UFC on Fox 18, Georges St-Pierre in training camp

Anthony Jhonson who had sought a match with Ryan Bader by appealing to the latter for a fight on social media, has had his wish granted, as the two are set to face off in the main event on UFC on Fox 18.

Jhonson, who is currently leading the official UFC rankings for the light heavyweight division, will be facing off with Bader in a five-round headliner fight in Newark, New Jersey on 30 January 2016.

Ryan Bader, who is ranked number three on the official UFC rankings, will be looking on to pile on another victory to his five-fight win streak, while Jhonson will be looking to resurrect his record, after his defeat to Daniel Cormier in May

According to reports, Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine, Joaquim Silva vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Alexander Yakovlev vs. George Sullivan and Felipe Oliveri vs. Tony Martin will be the other matches to feature that night.

The UFC’s official twitter handle also announced the event.

- Former UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has reportedly hinged his UFC return on a six-week training camp. In the interview with boxing coach Freddie Roach, the former WBC champion spoke about St-Pierre’s decisions and also went on to support the former.

"And at the end of the six weeks if he feels like he's ready to fight and he's hungry for it like he always has been he's going to do it”, says Roach, after the “Rush” looking to not make such a rushed return to the octagon after all. Roach also said that six weeks would be a good amount of time for St-Pierre to decide on whether he’s “hungry” for a UFC return.

Roach concluded by saying that it was good judgement on GSP’s part to mull it over and then draw a conclusion, rather than going into in half-heartedly.

St-Pierre, who is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished MMA fighter, will be looking to pull in a high profile fighter for his return fight. Considered to be the one of the most dominant UFC champions of all times, he will be the topic of discussion on many fans’ minds, if he does choose to return to the octagon.

Although he has not competed for over two years, the Canadian has maintained his position as a top-level athlete.
