Boxing star Ryan Garcia once weighed in on Israel Adesanya's knockout win over Alex Pereira.

In November 2022, Adesanya faced his longtime rival Pereira for the first time in MMA, putting his middleweight title on the line. The Brazilian then shocked the world as after a back-and-forth contest, he stopped 'The Last Stylebender' in the fifth round.

Their rematch then took place five months later at UFC 287, with Adesanya determined to finally pick up a win over the man that has haunted his combat sports career. He ultimately did just that, and knocked Pereira out cold in the second round after playing possum up against the cage.

Ryan Garcia, who was just days out from his blockbuster bout against Gervonta Davis at the time, was then asked about Adesanya's performance by Little Giant Boxing.

'King Ryan' stated that he believed 'Poatan' made a mistake by falling into Adesanya's trap. He hoped that 'The Last Stylebender' would be ringside for his bout against 'Tank'. He said:

"Man, Alex made a mistake. A big mistake, but he always gets caught with that right hand. I don't know why he didn't realize Israel was going to do that. It was awesome though and that [Garcia then acts out Adesanya's iconic bow and arrow celebration] was cool. That'd be sick [If Adesanya came to his boxing fight].

Conor McGregor reacts to Ryan Garcia's win over Devin Haney

Conor McGregor has praised Ryan Garcia, following his majority decision victory over Devin Haney.

'King Ryan' was given little to no chance by a majority of boxing fans when he faced 'The Dream', as a mix of both his controversial antics in the fight build-up and his 3.2 pound weight miss on the scale.

Garcia then proved almost everybody wrong as he delivered a career-best performance, dropping Haney multiple times on his way to getting the nod via the judges' scorecards.

Following the dramatic contest, McGregor took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on the fight. He tweeted:

"Godspeed to both men and teams in this crazy world and congrats Ryan Garcia! Tonight is your night... A win or a loss will never make or break a person to me. When you know, you know. Fighters know."

He continued:

"Now the real fight happens for the young man, too! Stay strong kid, believe in the Lord’s guidance, and keep it tight like frogs a*s in Versace lad hahaha yes!"
