Conor McGregor News: Al Iaquinta rants about 'infant' Conor McGregor

What's the story?

On the final episode of UFC on Fox, at UFC on Fox 31, Al Iaquinta headlined the card when he took on and defeated Kevin Lee.

Since then, Iaquinta has gone on a rant on Conor McGregor, calling him out for being handed everything, and not really achieving anything in the UFC.

In case you didn't know...

Conor McGregor faced and lost against Khabib Nurmagomedov, but several things he did during the lead up to the fight angered other stars.

One of these stars happened to be the previous opponent of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Al Iaquinta.

The heart of the matter

Al Iaquinta talked about the insult from McGregor during the lead up to the Khabib fight, when McGregor had referred to Khabib Nurmagomedov's previous opponent as a 'real estate agent'.

"He shit on me a little bit in the lead up to the Khabib fight, saying 'you just beat a real estate agent'. Dude shut the fuck up."

Iaquinta talked about how McGregor had been treated as a favourite by Dana White and the rest of the UFC. He said that McGregor had been given opportunity after opportunity.

"He's been given the best opponents his whole UFC career. He's been given the most money. He's been given everything!"

Iaquinta went on to focus on one particular grievance about how UFC had made it their priority when McGregor had wanted a knee surgery. He was given everything that he had wanted without having to do anything for it. However, when Iaquinta had wanted a knee surgery they said that the hospital he had chosen was too expensive. Iaquinta pointed out the irony here saying that the hospital in question was now a partner of UFC.

"I asked for a knee surgery, they said no! They told me I couldn't get knee surgery."

Iaquinta made his views about McGregor clear, saying how he had not deserved the fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title, skipping ahead of a stacked Lightweight Division to actually get the fight. He even said that Khabib Nurmagomedov made McGregor look like an 'infant'.

"You've seen what happens when he goes there against Khabib. Khabib made him look like an infant."

What's next?

Al Iaquinta is riding high after his win in the last fight against Kevin Lee and will be looking for a rematch for the Title against Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, he will have to compete for the spot with the subject of his rant, Conor McGregor, as well as others like Dustin Poirier and Tony Ferguson.
