Conor McGregor returning to boxing could be one of the biggest moves for him to make!

What's the story?

When Conor McGregor faced Floyd 'Money' Mayweather in a boxing bout, he made it his business to prove that he had what it takes to square off against one of the greatest boxers of all time. If recent reports are to be believed, Conor McGregor is set to return to a boxing ring for another fight extremely soon.

McGregor is not a man who leaves things half done, and his fans may be about to get him in a huge super-fight in the boxing ring against a man who was once his training partner and a good friend. The relationship between the two have since soured, and they could be facing each other in a fight for the ages.

In case you didn't know...

When Conor McGregor was training for his fight against Floyd Mayweather, he made sure to be well-prepared for the fight. For that reason, as his training partner, he had none other than the incredible Paulie Malignaggi, a legend of the boxing world.

However, when 'the Notorious One' left the training camp, photos and videos surfaced online which showed McGregor getting the better of Malignaggi in their sessions. Malignaggi objected to these leaks, and said that McGregor could post the whole videos so that people could know 'what really happened'.

Since then, the two of them have been at each other's throats, with Malignaggi even mocking McGregor following his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Given their history, a fight between the two of them does not seem unlikely.

The heart of the matter

The UFC star is rumored to be about to take on Paulie Malignaggi in a return to boxing.

With their bitter history, the two fighters have more than enough reasons to feud, so when reports emerged from two separate sources about a possible super-fight between them, it did not seem unlikely to occur.

Both reports stated that the fight was still in discussions for now and that nothing was decided as of yet.

However, the prospect of the fight is exciting, as the retired boxer could very well give McGregor a run for his money.

What's next?

Conor McGregor facing Pauli Malignaggi would be the perfect opportunity for 'The Notorious One' to silence the majority of his critics. A win here would allow the UFC star to bounce back, after his last two losses against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Floyd Mayweather.
