Auckland MMA representative Ev “ET” Ting will return to the ONE circle to face Evolve MMA’s Amir Khan on 22 November at ONE: EDGE OF GREATNESS at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

After taking a quick breather, Ting immediately went back to camp to train for his bout against Singapore’s knockout king.

“E.T.” has been regarded as one of the most exciting finishers in ONE Championship. But despite the way he ends his matches, Ting is also a very intelligent competitor. He can get technical when needed.

After suffering back-to-back losses to Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev and Shinya Aoki, Ting earned a submission victory over Daichi Abe at ONE: Masters of Destiny last July. And after a short break, he jumped right back into working for his bout with Khan.

“Definitely a good feeling catching up on some luxuries in life,” Ting said.

“However, I have had back to back camps since 2010 so I am always looking to compete as much as possible.”

Khan is a Singaporean Muay Thai Champion who holds the record for the most knockouts in ONE history. Despite his recent defeats, Khan has shown no intention of slowing down in his pursuit to become a better athlete.

Ting trains in New Zealand’s premier MMA gym with coaches who are well-versed in various styles including mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, SJJ, Muay Thai, San Shou, and submission wrestling, among others.

Understanding that Khan is not only a dangerous finisher like himself but also a very technical fighter, Ting is preparing a sound game plan to ensure victory.

“In camp, we have a very technical training approach towards a game opponent like Amir Khan out of the notorious Evolve MMA,” Ting concluded.

“I’m always looking to improve at least 1% every day in all aspects of the game. We have a busy last quarter of 2019 for Auckland MMA’s fight team.”
