Robbie Lawler is back in the UFC after a year away!

UFC 235: Jones vs Smith is one of the most awaited pay-per-view events for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in quite a while.

Possibly the biggest event of the company since UFC 232, the event will feature two title fights at the top of the card -- UFC Light Heavyweight Title fight between Jon Jones and Anthony Smith, and UFC Welterweight Title fight between Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman.

However, a bit lower down the card, a huge fight awaits the UFC audience. Ben Askren will make his UFC debut to take on one of the best fighters in the company -- former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler.

I was fortunate enough to pose a few questions before Robbie Lawler before UFC 235.

Tune in to Sony Six and Sony Six HD on the 3rd of March, 8:30 AM to pick up all the action from UFC 235: Jones vs Smith.

Q. Did your fight getting shifted to UFC 235 from 233 affect your preparation in any way?

RL: It definitely helped as it gave me a little extra time to prepare, I am stronger now and I am in better shape than I was then, it was a blessing.

Q. It’s been more than a year since your last fight. Do you feel like this is your best opportunity to bounce back from the last loss?

RL: I feel great, I took my time coming back. I had a long and hard training camp it was over a year of building my body back and now it is stronger than it ever was so I am ready to go.

Q. What are your thoughts like heading into a fight against someone like Ben Askren?

RL: It’s a big fight, he’s been a world champion in two different organizations, he’s fought and wrestled all over the world, so I am excited for it.
