Mikey Musumeci wishes to be on every card his good friend Rodtang is in

Mikey Musumeci is always one to get along with his fellow athletes in ONE Championship, but there is one fighter whom the ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion has grown into a deep friendship with.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizard is best friends with ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and Musumeci said that he wants to always be on the same card as the Thai megastar.

In an interview with Jiu-Jitsu Times, Musumeci said:

“Every event Rodtang’s on, I want to be on, so that we’re together. So, hopefully, every card where they feature Rodtang, he and I can be together.”

The pair have been in the same card only twice at ONE Fight Night 6 this past January, and most recently at ONE Fight Night 10 this month.

Though it’s only a small sample size of a couple of events, the buddies seem to be good luck charms for one another. In the two times they were on the same card, Musumeci and Rodtang emerged victorious.

Musumeci beat Gantumur Bayanduuren via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 6, then submitted Osamah Almarwai at ONE Fight Night 10 to retain the ONE flyweight submission grappling world title.

Rodtang, meanwhile, took a unanimous decision win against Jiduo Yibu in a kickboxing match at ONE Fight Night 6 and then a knockout victory against Edgar Tabares in ONE Championship’s on-site United States debut.

Though there’s no official word on when the pair will have their respective fights, it’s safe to assume that Musumeci’s wish could come true.
