MMA News: Brave Combat Federation initiates operations in India

Bahrain-based International Mixed Martial Arts promotion, Brave Combat Federation has officially initiated its operations in India during the Financial Year 2017. The operations were initiated after the official Brave media conference held on 17th November, 04:00 PM at the Courtyard by Marriott, Andheri East Mumbai.

Mohammed Shahid – President, Brave Combat Federation, rolled out stages of investment and long term plans for the Indian market. It is expected to invest a net worth of $60 million during FY17 in key developmental and infrastructure resources. Key media and broadcast partnerships were also alluded to, during the announcement.

The event was attended by Bollywood celebrities Sahil Khan, Parvin Dabas and Mohammed Farhad, amongst others, along with India’s MMA community. Brave Combat Federation is an initiative of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Another key highlight of the press conference was the announcement of the key priority towards the development and welfare of women in performance sports. Brave Combat Federation is in a phase of progressive expansion, after conducting their pilot event Brave - The Beginning at Manama, Bahrain.

The primary target of the promotion is to provide a global platform for Indian athletes and access to world class facilities. The Indian MMA industry witnessed exponential growth with Indian athletes representing the country in multiple international events and winning key events against industry veterans.

MMA has also made huge strides in popular culture with big budget films brandishing MMA themes such as Brothers, Bhaagi, Sultan and Godha. Many Indian MMA fighters have made their presence felt in the film industry as well.
