MMA News: Fedor close to the gates of the Octagon

Fedor as cool as usual

Fedor Emelianenko, one of the greatest MMA fighters, states that his negotiations with the UFC may lead him to sign a deal. During an interview with the MMA Hour, he said he was getting closer to signing a contract with the UFC. However, we will see the Russian legend face Fabio Maldonado at Eurasia Fight Nights that will be aired on UFC Fight Pass on June 17th.

Previously, UFC had tried to negotiate with Fedor but it was unsuccessful due to multiple reasons.

While speaking to mmaweekly.com he states “I always wanted to fight for UFC and I would fight for UFC, but at this moment we’re looking at the deal and the deal has to satisfy both parties — them and my organization. Until there’s no friction, until we are 100-percent in terms of seeing eye-to-eye, we are all basically in limbo.”

UFC wanted Fedor to fight Brock Lesnar during Lesnar’s first stint in the octagon. Lesnar will fight at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt, but if Fedor does sign a deal with the UFC then the Beast can be lured into competing for another fight. The match would shoot up in pay per view records and also break records.

The Last Emperor had previously fought in Rizin Fighting Federation against Jaideep Singh, whom he defeated with a first round stoppage. Fedor had also considered about fighting for Bellator FC with it’s president Scott Coker stating that it was possible. But so far nothing has been settled regarding his next move.
