Ronda Rousey reveals that she's set for a bleak Christmas

The former UFC Bantamweight Champion’s jaw isn’t helping her cause for an early return

Come 25th December, billions of people around the world will immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit as well as help spread the festive cheer to others, except Ronda Rousey, who admitted in a recent interview that Christmas this year wouldn’t be all that jolly for her.

The MMA fighter’s admission is directly linked to the defeat she suffered against Holly Holm this November, which resulted in a major injury, which was initially thought to be a jaw fracture, but turned out to be a little less serious.

ESPN reports that her teeth are still in bits, which leaves her no choice but to go on a soft diet, with the website even speculating that she wouldn’t be able to chew on an apple for at least six months.

In the interview, a little of which was accessed by People’s magazine, Rousey says, "The stitches in her lip still dissolving, and a few of her teeth still unstable from Holm's fight-ending kick to the face."

She adds,"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”

What makes matters worse is that Rousey won’t be able to return to the ring for at least six months after her loss to Holm, which by her own admission has left her ‘f*****g sad’.

Here’s hoping that some cheer, whatever the form, finds its way to Rousey this Christmas season.

Her impending rematch has already been confirmed to happen, whenever Ronda has recuperated completely and is ready to get back into the octagon, according to UFC President Dana White.

It would take mental toughness and extra hours of work put into striking that would help Ronda in reclaiming her lost gold.
