MMA News: CM Punk challenged by Jason David Frank, again

Punk has been challenged yet again!

This shall by no means be the first time that universes collide in the squared circle! Jason David Frank, who was one of the original cast members of the famous 90’s hit show “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”, has for the third time in three years issued an open challenge to none other than CM Punk.

The first time Jason David Frank had cast light on the matter was a couple of years ago when a fan had asked him about Frank’s friendly open challenge to Punk on “The Roman Show”, in a Q&A session. He had this to say about Punk:

“Let’s get that going. I love CM Punk, he’s a really nice guy. But he did say in his panel that he would fight me and you can’t say that in the fighting world if you don’t mean that you’d fight me. Let’s get a contract going!”

Since then, Punk has gone on to mock Jason David Frank (henceforth JDF) at his UFC debut, by calling him a “joke” and a “stalker” for persistently calling him out.

Last year JDF commented on Punk’s debut around the time it was announced:

“I’ve tried for years. You can’t just join the UFC, you have to be invited and prove yourself as a fighter. I have a lot of great friends who are GREAT fighters that still haven’t got into the UFC. I didn’t know with no fight experience you can. Well I was wrong. He’s in the UFC and that’s that. Don’t under estimate him though Brock did it, maybe he can too? PS I still would like a shot haha. JDF”

When asked about any tentative match-ups, Punk lambasted JDF as an individual who is trying to stay relevant by fueling speculations with someone of Punk’s reputation.

This infuriated JDF enough to issue a statement to Dana White recently, about a bout against CM Punk, one that he is willing to do for free, thus cementing the fact this is more personal than about sports entertainment.

Punk would be remiss to dismiss JDF so casually. JDF is currently a part of Texas Cage Wrestling and is a seventh-degree black belt in Kyokushin karate, a purple belt in Brazillian jiu-jitsu and is in talks with Bellator.

After the beatdown at the hands of Gall, would Punk take up yet another challenger?
