Alyse Anderson admitted she was surprised when Stamp Fairtex called her out.

On May 5, Anderson will step into the Circle for the biggest fight of her professional mixed martial arts career as she takes on No. 1 ranked atomweight contender Stamp Fairtex.

The 28-year-old American standout last competed in May 2022, scoring a first-round submission victory over Asha Roka. Should earn a win over Stamp, ‘Lil Savage’ would see herself skyrocket to the top of the atomweight division rankings.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Alyse Anderson admitted that she was surprised to hear Stamp call her name. So much so that the callout lived rent-free in her head for the next 12 hours.

“After Stamp's last fight, I watched it and her post-fight interview just because of the translation,” Anderson said. “I thought she said my name for, like, probably a whole 12 hours because people were also messaging me. They thought the same thing. So it was like already in my head. But then I realized what she had said, and because I was reading through social media, I was like, oh, that makes sense.”

Going into the highly anticipated atomweight clash, Alyse Anderson and Stamp Fairtex find themselves on the verge of a ONE world title opportunity. With reigning atomweight queen Angela Lee on hiatus following the tragic passing of her sister Victoria Lee, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong has indicated that an interim world title will be implemented.

With Ham Seo Hee already securing her spot in a ONE world title fight last month, ‘Hamzzang’ is just waiting for her dance partner. In all likelihood, the woman standing across from Ham later this year will be the winner of Alyse Anderson vs. Stamp Fairtex.

Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can catch ONE Fight Night 10 live and for free in U.S. primetime on May 5.
