Alyse Anderson believes Stamp Fairtex will be in for a bit of a surprise when the two atomweights square off in a high-stakes scrap at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

‘Lil Savage’ will be looking to make it two in a row, not to mention scoring the biggest win of her combat sports career if she can get the W against one of the promotion’s most dominant female fighters. Discussing the impending matchup with ONE Championship, Anderson believes she is likely being underestimated, particularly when it comes to her strength and grappling skills:

“I feel like I’ll be a lot stronger than she thinks, just because I don’t look as strong as I am. But grappling-wise, she will feel a big strength difference.”

Stamp Fairtex has definitely shown the ability to hang with her opponents on the canvas. The most notable was her second-round submission victory over ‘The Indian Tigress’ Ritu Phogat in 2021, securing her the ONE Atomweight Women’s World Grand Prix championship. Things did not go quite so well when she met the reigning atomweight queen at ONE X in March 2022, but the ‘Unstoppable’ champion is an entirely different type of monster on the mat.

Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can catch Alyse Anderson vs. Stamp Fairtex live and for free on March 24 in U.S. primetime.

Alyse Anderson believes she has spotted holes in Stamp Fairtex’s MMA game

Before becoming the atomweight division’s top contender, Stamp Fairtex was dominating in both kickboxing and the art of eight limbs, becoming ONE Championship’s first-ever two-sport ONE world champion. Ready to conquer another sport, Stamp transitioned to MMA and immediately flourished, winning five straight fights, four by way of finish.

Standing at 9-2 in MMA and the No. 1 contender in the atomweight division, Stamp Fairtex has proven herself to be a well-rounded contender. However, Alyse Anderson believes she has spotted holes in Stamp’s mixed martial arts skills, specifically her ground game. ‘Lil Savage’ plans to use her observations in an attempt to hand Stamp her third career defeat in MMA and skyrocket herself to the top of the rankings:

“I think that I am most comfortable as a grappler, which is why I like this matchup... Because Stamp is a world-class kickboxer, but she does have holes in MMA, I see them in her grappling.”
