McComb started the bout on a good note and got the better of his opponent in the opening rounds. Several fans noticed that the Irishman was sporting the Palestinian flag on his shorts.

The fight went the 10-round distance and many believed that McComb had done enough to take home the victory.

But in the end, Barboza Jr. was declared the winner by split decision. The three judges scored the bout 92-98, 96-94 and 97-93 in favor of the California native.

The crowd did not agree with the decision and started booing after the scorecards were announced.
