Arnold Barboza Jr. vs. Sean McComb: Live round-by-round updates

Arnold Barboza Jr. vs. Sean McComb will serve as the co-main event for Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia later tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with the WBO inter-continental super lightweight title on the line.

Currently ranked No.1 on the WBO's super lightweight rankings, the undefeated Barboza Jr. (29-0) was most recently seen in January as he forced an eight-round corner stoppage over Xolisani Ndongeni.

While the American is yet to get his hands on a major world title, the 32-year-old has clinched the WBO International and WBO Inter-Continental super-lightweight belts among other regional titles.

Meanwhile, his opponent McComb (18-1) is currently on a seven-fight win streak. 'The Public Nuisance' was last seen in a unanimous decision win over Sam Maxwell last December. The Irishman is currently the No.8-ranked super lightweight per the WBO and a win against Barboza Jr. might just be his ticket to get into the title conversation.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Barboza Jr. is a -1100 favorite over McComb (+650 underdog).

Round 1:

As the opening round unfolds, both fighters are gauging the distance and range with jabs. McComb unloads a multi-punch combo which partially lands on his opponent.

Barboza Jr. lands a crisp right hand on his Irishman up top. McComb lands a few punches from the outside.

Looks like an even round.

Round 2:

Barboza Jr. misses with a left hook. McComb keeps his opponent at bay with jabs and left hands. The Irishman's superior footwork is keeping his opponent guessing as he effortlessly slips in and out of range while stinging his opponent with one-two combos.

Barboza digs into the body in an effort to slow his opponent down. Right now he is having little success going upstairs. Body shots might have won the round for the American.

Round 3:

McComb is trying to keep his opponent at a distance with crisp jabs, but whenever Barboza Jr. closes the distance he is having success going to the body. The American unloads two power punches to the body.

Barboza once again closes the distance and lands a body shot and follows it up with a straight right.

Round 4:

As Round 4 starts, it more of the same – McComb keeping his opponent at range with jabs and Barboza trying to close the distance.

Right hand lands for Barboza, and McComb returns with a looping right hook. While the Irishman is more deadly on the outside, he is effectively starting to counter Barboza Jr. up close as well.

McComb rolls with his opponent's punches, backed up against the ropes, all the while landing a few punches of his own.

Round 5:

McComb's long reach is turning out to be a problem for Barboza Jr. and the Irishman unloads quick jabs and even body punches from the outside. McComb lands two debilitating body shots from up close. As the pair disengages, the Irishman sneaks in an uppercut.

A good round for 'The Public Nuisance'.

Round 6:

Unofficial scorecards currently have McComb winning the fight 49-46. McComb lands a flurry from up close, landing both on the head and the body. McComb is piecing his opponent from the outside.

Barboza Jr. needs to start pushing the pace and win a few rounds. Right now, the fight seems to be shifting in favor of the Irishman.

Round 7:

McComb is pressing on with the same strategy that has worked for him so far, quick jabs and fighting on the outside.

A powerful right hand by Barboza Jr. momentarily dazes the Irishman. Barboza closes the distance with a right hand but gets stung with a flurry to the head.

Both men had their moments in the round. However, this was one of the better rounds for the American.

Round 8:

Barboza, sensing the urgency, is pressuring his opponent and making it a phone booth fight. Barboza Jr. lands a few body shots up close.

Barboza Jr. stings his opponent with a stiff jab followed by a right hand up top. McComb is employing a stick-and-move tactic, landing on his opponent with quick jabs and straights as he effortlessly moves in and out of range.

Round 9:

Extremely comfortable fighting on the back foot, McComb is still keeping his opponent guessing. He's pouncing around the ring, stinging his opponent with long jabs and the odd body punch.

Barboza Jr. is finding it hard to close the distance and is getting countered when he does. 'The Public Nuisance' bobs and weaves as he outstrikes his opponent from the outside. A beautiful right hand up top lands for McComb.

Another round in the bag for the Irishman.

Round 10:

As the final round commences, Barboza shows urgency and tries to get in close. He lands a flurry on McComb, missing a majority of the punches. Backed up against the ropes, the Irishman exhibits superior head movement as he effortlessly avoids his opponent's punches.

A jab from Barboza Jr. seems to have opened up a cut above the Irishman's right eye. The American closes the round aggressively, landing a few punches on his opponent's head. Stay tuned for the official decision
