'Big' John McCarthy and Josh Thomson reminisce about Fedor Emelianenko's legendary career

Former MMA referee John McCarthy and retired UFC fighter Josh Thomson both weighed in on Fedor Emelianenko's legendary MMA career.

During episode #331 of their MMA podcast, Weighing In John McCarthy and Josh Thomson examine Fedor Emelianenko's legendary MMA career. Both MMA devotees discussed Emelianenko's ten-year undefeated record and his upcoming retirement fight with Ryan Bader. McCarthy stated:

"I totally understand it, you know especially for the guy that look... he's done it all and everything and you can sit there and say, why would you not want to get another shot at Ryan Bader. And for Ryan what is there... there's you know, the upside, well the upside only there's only been six people to beat Fedor."

He further stated that Bader could be the only guy to beat Emelianenko, and he mentioned:

"You could be the only guy that ever beat him twice. Now there's lot of guys on Fedor's side of the equation that lost a fate or twice. You know and they were great fighters Noguiera you know... lost twice to him."

Former UFC mixed martial artist and now MMA analyst Thomson mentioned the legendary career of the Russian heavyweight, he said:

"When I look at what Fedor has done not just in Pride. I mean he knocked out Andrei Arlovski, you know the crazy jump in the air for the knee and just the overhand right on the chin just fluffed him down."

Further, McCarthy and Thomson discussed Fedor Emelianenko's enormous MMA career and his utter dominance in the heavyweight category across various promotions.
