Andrew Tate, a social media influencer with a controversial reputation, along with his brother Tristan, have been granted release from prison in Romania and granted house arrest following a successful appeal against their detention.

The Bucharest Court of Appeal reviewed Tate's appeal, which challenged the decision of a judge who had ordered a fourth extension of his arrest for 30 days, and ruled in his favor. The decision comes as a significant relief for the brothers, who have been languishing in prison for an extended period.

A ruling from the appeals court in Bucharest rejected the proposal to extend the duration of the defendants' preventive arrest and instead replaced it with a preventive measure of house arrest. The decision comes as a significant relief for the accused, who has been held in custody for an extended period.

Andrew Tate, a 36-year-old former professional kickboxer, and his brother Tristan are currently facing investigations related to allegations of sexual assault, exploitation, and money laundering. Tate has garnered infamy over the years for espousing misogynistic views and has been detained, along with his brother and two Romanian women, since late December. They have been accused of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group.
