Cat Zingano has hit back at Cris Cyborg for claiming that she's been ducking her since joining Bellator.

During her Bellator 293 pre-fight media availability, Zingano addressed Cyborg's comments and why a bout between the two hasn't materialized. She mentioned that the reigning women's featherweight champion's current status with the promotion doesn't exactly make it an easy fight to book.

Zingano said:

"She's not even with the promotion, so I don't know how to duck someone. She just tells me to sign a contract, but she has two contracts to sign to even get back in the promotion. I feel like she's kind of a crazy lady yelling from the street corner right now, just trying to get anyone to talk to her, anyone to pay attention to her."

'Alpha' didn't hold back when giving her thoughts on Cyborg by referring to her as a negative person. She also mentioned that unless real discussions begin on a potential title fight, she will continue to ignore her:

"She's always complaining. She always got something negative to say. At this point, I kind of ignore her and once those real conversations start happening, then we could do something about it. But right now, it's just noise."

It will be interesting to see whether Zingano calls out Cyborg for a title fight should she defeat Leah McCourt this Friday at Bellator 293.

Cat Zingano is unbeaten in Bellator

Cat Zingano has had success since joining Bellator's women's featherweight division after parting ways with the UFC.

'Alpha' made her promotion debut at Bellator 245 in 2020, where she earned a unanimous decision win over Gabrielle Holloway. She then followed up that win with a first-round submission over Olivia Parker at Bellator 256.

The No.1-ranked women's featherweight most recently improved to 3-0 in the promotion after earning a unanimous decision win over Pam Sorenson at Bellator 282. Cat Zingano will look to extend her winning streak to four straight wins when she fights Leah McCourt in what's believed to be a title-eliminator in the co-main event at Bellator 293.
