ONE CEO and founder Chatri Sityodtong gushed over Rodtang’s latest victory claiming he’s on his way to global superstardom within the next couple of years.

North American fans finally saw the famed ‘Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon put on a show at ONE on Prime Video 4 last week against ONE strawweight challenger Joseph Lasiri.

Where Lasiri lacked in energy and aggression, Rodtang certainly made up for with his tantalizing antics and fiery personality throughout all five Muay Thai rounds.

Taking questions during the post-fight interview at ONE on Prime Video 4, Chatri Sityodtong was asked what he thought about Rodtang’s overall performance in his Prime Video appearance.

The CEO responded:

“There's no doubt that Rodtang is now the biggest global superstar that Muay Thai has ever seen in the history of the sport, full stop. If you look at his fighting style, his KO percentage. If you look at his charisma in and out of the cage, this guy is going to be huge. You watch him in the next two or three years, he's going to be truly, truly mainstream, global superstar and all over the world. This is what I predict. I mean, he has everything.”

Rodtang has certainly lived up to all expectations. He’s cleared out the flyweight division with his own two hands since joining the promotion back in 2018.

Unbeaten in all eleven fights, he’s truly a force to be reckoned with. His fighting style alone is unpredictable as he has a penchant for controlled chaos, which in turn makes it extremely difficult for opponents to read and counter his shots.

As fans witnessed last week, Rodtang is the real deal. Nobody has been able to beat him, which begs the question: who’s next on the cards for ‘The Iron Man?’

“That’s not how a champion should be”- Chatri Sityodtong disappointed in Joseph Lasiri’s performance

Although Chatri Stiyodtong hailed Rodtang Jitmuangnon for giving fans a show, he couldn’t say the same thing about Joseph Lasiri.

In the build-up to their world title matchup, Lasiri said he was fully committed to go strike-for-strike with the defending world champion, citing that he was going to “make Rodtang angry” with his offense.

However, as fans witnessed, Lasiri was forced to play defense the entire night. In his defense, it was the best strategy he had in order to avoid a devastating knockout. But CEO Chatri Sityodtong didn’t see it that way.

In the same interview, he said:

“I was very disappointed in Lasiri. That’s not how a champion should be. That’s not someone -you know we gave a massive opportunity obviously to Lasiri, to move up and win a second title. And all he did was run, run, run, he wouldn’t try to win, he was just trying to survive.”
