In the main event, the undefeated Mbilli took on Derevyanchenko in a super middleweight bout to defend the WBC Continental Americas and WBA International super middleweight titles. Heading into the fight, Mbilli boasted an impressive 27-0 professional boxing record. He had defeated Mark Heffron by KO in a WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title fight in his previous outing.

Meanwhile, former title challenger Derevyanchenko had been through a rough patch, losing three of his five most recent fights.

In their fight, Mbilli effectively controlled the range with an effective jab and clipped Derevyanchenko with clobbering shots to the head and the body. The bout appeared to be slipping out of Derevyanchenko’s hands by Round 2 as Mbilli hurt him several times and forced him to retreat into a defensive shell. However, the Ukrainian regained some ground in the third round and gained his opponent’s respect with a few clean strikes of his own.

Derevyanchenko, who appeared to have hurt his left arm, succeeded in limiting Mbilli’s advance in the middle rounds and even appeared to have hurt the undefeated boxer in Round 7 with clobbering right hands. However, Mbilli continued to maintain the lead and got his hand raised by unanimous decision.

The co-main event marked the only heavyweight clash on the card as Russia's Arslanbek Makhmudov fought Italy's Guido Vianello. Makhmudov, who had his eyes set on a title shot against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 with a potential win, found himself in a tough fight against the underdog opponent.

Vianello assumed full control of the fight from the opening bell and systematically broke Makhmudov down as the fight progressed. The worsening swelling around Makhmudov's left eye did not make things easier either. He was rocked by his Italian opponent in Round 7 and came dangerously close to being finished.

The doctors examined Makhmudov's eye before the start of Round 8 but declared him unfit to continue, declaring Vianello a winner by TKO due to a doctor's stoppage.

The Ring's No.3-ranked super middleweight contender Osleys Iglesias continued his winning ways, securing his third victory of the year. Coming off a ninth-round KO defeat against David Morrell, Iglesias' opponent Sena Agbeko had little to offer him in the fight.

Iglesias took an aggressive stance and backed Agbeko with body jabs. Agbeko, who landed a few good punches of his own, was knocked down by a right hook in Round 1. The Ghanaian boxer answered the 10-count and survived the first round.

However, Iglesias did not let him off the hook and swarmed with punches against the ropes in Round 2 until the referee stepped in to stop the action. The win extended his professional boxing record to 11-0.

Christian Mbilli vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko prelims: Abdullah Mason wins by KO

In the headlining bout on the preliminary card, highly touted Abdullah Mason did quick work of Mike Ohan Jr. to take the next step in his quest to the top. Mason showed ring generalship from the get-go and controlled the fight. He dropped Ohan Jr. with a vicious uppercut in Round 1. However, the 30-year-old answered the 10-count and made it to the final bell despite being visibly stunned.

Mason picked up from where he left off and dropped his opponent again in Round 2. While Ohan Jr. got back to his feet, the referee had seen enough and waved off the fight. With the win, Mason improved to 14-0 in his professional boxing career.

Meanwhile, a technical battle between lightweight boxers Dzmitry Asanau and Alexis Gabriel Camejo resulted in a unanimous decision victory for Asanau.
