The boxing match between Diaz and Masvidal had an explosive and furious build-up. The two renowned fighter's respective camps have spared no effort to outdo one another, whether it is through ferocious trash talk or a street brawl.

In their prior professional combat sports encounter at UFC 244, Masvidal knocked out Diaz in the third round to win the inaugural BMF title. However, this time, McGrgeor seemed to think the other way. 'The Notorious' recently took to X on Saturday, taking a dig at both fighters. The former UFC double champion also revealed that he is placing a $500,000 wager on his former opponent to defeat 'Gamebred', writing:

''I’ve decided to put $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match. Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever. They are both little play around dipsh*ts in a fight, play around bollox, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $500k gets me back $1,625,000 all in. @Duelbits #bestodds''

Previously, McGregor and Diaz expressed their interest in having a trilogy fight to end their rivalry. Both men have won once, in their first meeting, Diaz submitted the Irishman, and in their second, McGregor prevailed over him by majority decision.

In a recent interview with Nolan King of MMA Junkie, Diaz shared his thoughts on a third fight with McGregor, saying:

''Yeah, we’ll see what happens with time, you know? It depends on what happens with my fight, his fight, UFC. I ain’t a fortune teller, you know what I’m saying? We’ll see what happens.”

Nate Diaz supports Conor McGregor's withdrawal from UFC 303

Conor McGregor, who was set to make his highly anticipated return to the octagon against Chandler at UFC 303, withdrew himself from the bout due to a toe injury during training.

Many have used McGregor's injury to criticize him. Nate Diaz, on the other hand, believes the Irishman made the right decision. In the aforementioned interview, he said:

''I think it was just a minor thing. I think they made a bigger deal out of it than it is. Good idea. If I get f*cked up, I would like to push the fight back too, but people f*cking freak out. I think I wouldn’t want to fight until I’m 100 percent ready to rock too.''
