Cris Cyborg finds unique way of pushing for Cat Zingano fight in Brazil at Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva card

Cris Cyborg's pursuit of a matchup against Cat Zingano was apparent during the recently concluded Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva event in Glendale, Arizona.

Cyborg was in attendance at the blockbuster event that pitted social media sensation Jake Paul against her compatriot Anderson Silva. She used her presence at the event to push for a meeting with Zingano.

The Bellator women's featherweight champion held up a t-shirt depicting her and Zingano. 'Cyborg vs Zingano' and 'Bellator Brazil' accompanied the artwork on the shirt. Cyborg posted a broadcast screenshot of herself holding the promotional t-shirt to Twitter and wrote in the caption:

"Champ @criscyborg X @CatZingano coming to @BellatorMMA #PaulSilva @ShowtimeBoxing #BellatorBrazil"

Cyborg addressed the potential matchup in an earlier interview with MMA Junkie, accusing Zingano of "running" from her:

“Cat Zingano been running, been running for a little while. All the time Bellator talk to me, okay next is going to be Cat Zingano and then change, and then going to be Cat Zingano and then Blencowe, and then no Cat Zingano, and then Sinead [Kavanagh]. So she always say I want to fight one more fight, one more fight next and then never ready.”

Zingano lashed out on Twitter in response to Cyborg's claims, seemingly accusing the former UFC champion of avoiding drug tests:

"This b***h left to boxing right when I earned my title shot against her and says I’m running?! That’s one way out of drug tests you f*****g juice box"

Jake Paul and Anderson Silva band together for a noble cause

Jake Paul's efforts towards better pay and healthcare for UFC fighters continued in the lead-up to his bout against Anderson Silva. In the final press conference before the boxing event, Paul offered 'The Spider' a bet, wherein the duo would kickstart a fighters' union if he emerges victorious.

Silva agreed to the bet only after stipulating that the union would be open to all mixed martial artists and not just restricted to UFC fighters. Paul went on to beat the former UFC middleweight champion via unanimous decision

It remains to be seen what steps the two combatants will take to come good on their cause to create a union for fighters.
