Australian striker Danial Williams is determined to deliver on his push to make 2023 another busy year for him, but only if his body allows him to.

'Mini T' is to challenge for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against reigning division king Superlek 'The Kicking Machine' Kiatmoo9 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Danial Williams, too, has expressed interest in being part of ONE Championship’s landmark live event in the United States on May 5. However, he will do this only if his body is good to go after his fight later this week.

The striker from Perth, Australia, shared with ONE in an interview:

“Now, that would be awesome [to be part of the U.S. card]. I'd love that, if I'm all good after this fight. Yeah, and they need me, 100% I'll be there. That's the plan, anyway. As long as the body is good, I am going to be smarter this year, too.”

Danial Williams continued:

“If there are things that aren't right with my body, just understanding that I do want to have a longer career. So I make sure the body is fully right before I accept fights. And if I'm all good, I'll keep going even if it's next week. It's just making sure I make the right decisions for my body. So I can keep fighting in the next couple of years, four years, whatever.”

The title showdown with Superlek came on short notice for 'Mini T,' and he is stepping in to replace Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who had to pull out earlier this week because of an injury. He was initially slated to mix it up with Portuguese fighter Rui Botelho in a strawweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 8. Danial Williams had it packed last year, competing in four mixed martial arts fights and going 3-1.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free to North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.

Danial Williams eyeing two ONE Championship world title belts in 2023

Striking martial arts star Danial Williams is keen on having a busy 2023 where he also hopes to get his hands on two ONE Championship world title belts. Having had four mixed martial arts fights in 2022, 'Mini T' is angling to win gold in Muay Thai and kickboxing this year.

Danial Williams told ONE Championship:

“I definitely want the [ONE strawweight] Muay Thai belt. I feel that’s mine for the taking this year. In a perfect world, it would be a Muay Thai world title fight, then a [champion]-versus-champion fight with kickboxing … That would be the ultimate 2023.”

While not the champion-versus-champion scenario he was seeking, Danial Williams gets to challenge for the ONE kickboxing gold as he battles flyweight world champion Superlek 'The Kicking Machine' Kiatmoo9 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 in Singapore.

The title showdown came in on short notice but 'Mini T' expressed his readiness, having been in fighting condition since he was also booked to fight in the main card of the event against Rui Botelho of Portugal.
