‘Mini-T’ Danial Williams is relieved that he’s going into his next bout in perfectly good health.

The Thai-Australian slugger returns to Muay Thai action after two years to face former European kickboxing champion Rui Botelho at ONE Fight Night 8 next Friday.

Fully recovered from a devastating TKO loss he suffered in his last MMA outing, Danial Williams is relieved that he feels 100% healthy and ready to go.

Speaking to ONE Championship, the 29-year-old star further explained:

“I had a really good rest after the last fight. I let a lot of things heal -- the best thing I've ever done. Just the deload phase. I'm feeling really good now. There's no little injuries or anything. There are a few things I still have to be careful of, just with my hand and that, but nothing where it's like going to be an issue in the back of my mind where I have to alter my training massively. So I'm doing a lot of skills training, which I need. I'm super happy with this camp at the moment.”

Last October, Danial Wiliams didn’t look like himself when he went strike-for-strike with his Filipino rival Jeremy Miado at ONE on Prime Video 3. He ate a lot of Miado’s power punches early in the first round, which ended up paying dividends for the Filipino star in the long run.

Statistically, Williams was billed as the favorite as he had won his last three fights in back-to-back fashion. Evidently, Williams got overly ambitious in trying to win his fourth straight fight in a single year, but he’s comforted by the fact that without the loss, he wouldn’t have gotten the rest his body needed.

Danial Williams is focused on getting a shot at a Muay Thai world title

No. 5-ranked strawweight contender Danial Williams has set new goals for himself this year. According to the athlete, if he beats Rui Botelho in a convincing manner next Friday, it might earn him a shot at the Muay Thai world title.

Speaking to ONE, Danial Williams talked about his future plans by saying:

"I really want the Muay Thai title shot. That's my goal. I want to take this fight and, hopefully, get the title shot after this one. That's my plan right now."

Williams’ Portuguese opponent, Rui Botelho, is in dire need of a win next week after suffering three straight losses to Superlek Kiatmoo9, Taiki Naito, and Asahi Shinagawa in the last three years. Heading to his first bout of the year with nothing to lose but with everything to gain, Botelho, therefore, is more dangerous than ever before.

As both men fight for a shot at the world title, fans can expect nothing but a full-on war with this one.

ONE Fight Night 8 will be broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
