Rising star Danielle Kelly has had the pleasure of competing in Singapore twice since signing with ONE Championship. She hopes to showcase her world-class skills in other countries in the near future.
The New Jersey native is scheduled to face Ayaka Miura at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. The event is scheduled to take place in Indonesia. Kelly revealed a pair of additional nations that she wants to visit in an interview with ONE, stating:
"Hopefully for my next match, in my next match I would really like to go to either Italy or Japan. Hopefully by next year I’ll just travel somewhere for fun. I think Italy would be first, I’d love to go to Italy first."
ONE Championship is slated to make its North American debut when it hits Colorado for ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video next May. Kelly has expressed interest in getting on the historic card.
While ONE is breaking barriers by touching down in the United States, it's expected that the promotion will host events for the first time in other countries as well.
If ONE were to host events in Italy and Japan, native fighters like Joseph Lasiri and Itsuki Hirata would likely want to compete in front of their home crowds.
Danielle Kelly welcomes any and all opponents, regardless of size
While the Danielle Kelly is gearing up for her third appearance inside the circle, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has a few future opponents in mind.
She told ONE:
“As far as opponents, I mean I definitely have a few lined up. I’m also, I’ve also called out a few people, so, you know, I’m really happy to whoever they give me. I think in the past, because I won against bigger girls, I just prefer my weight class.”
The Silver Fox BJJ trainee has grappled against bigger opponents such as Roxanne Modafferi (130 pounds) and Nicole Sullivan (135.6 pounds) in the past.
