American grappling ace Danielle Kelly is always looking to elevate her game. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt may be planning to follow the diet of ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Kelly explained her plans to put on some more muscle:

"I'm a small person. I walk around 115. I'm a natural one-fifteener so I don't really gain weight, which is kind of sad. So right now lately, I've been trying to gain some muscle so I've been trying to eat a lot, so I might just do the Mikey [Musumeci] diet."

Grappling expert 'Darth Rigatoni' Musumeci maintains a strict diet of just pizza and pasta. In an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Musumeci explained:

"I started just eating the foods I love. I’m Italian so I grew up just eating pizza and pasta… for dessert, I’ll eat a pint of Acai and my weight would be lighter doing this diet than eating like no carbs and all these things."

Danielle Kelly discusses adding more muscle

Danielle Kelly is struggling to put on the muscle she desires. Rolling and grappling all morning and then weight training occasionally, she still struggles to add more strength.

During the same interview with The MMA Superfan, she explained:

"When I’m in camp, I’m pretty strict. When I’m not, it kind of just varies. If I'm training twice, let’s say, I have some days when I’m training three times. Meaning, if I do jiu-jitsu in the morning, lunch, or I’m lifting. Sometimes I’ll do jiu-jitsu twice a day and then take a break from lifting. It’s usually strict sometimes but, on the weekends, I kind of just splurge."

Danielle Kelly will need to put on as much strength as she can get for her upcoming bout at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 (US primetime). The jiu-jitsu ace will be meeting multi-time sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova. The Russian and Kelly will have a showdown under ONE Championship submission grappling rules.
