Former UFC star Darren Till recently went off on the popular Merseyside news outlet Liverpool Echo for snubbing him in one of their recent listicles. The article that irked 'The Gorilla' listed 22 young movers and shakers who positively contribute to the city of Liverpool. However, they left him out of the list.

The Liverpudlian took to social media to express his frustration at being excluded from that particular listicle and explained why he deserved to be named as one of Liverpool's trailblazers in a series of tweets.

Darren Till posted a screenshot of the headline, tagging the outlet and the writer with a simple "Hi" to get their attention.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger followed up with screenshots of a lengthy write-up summarizing his successful businesses and accomplishments.

Till pointed out that he was the first Liverpudlian to bring the UFC to Liverpool and owned several commercial ventures. 'The Gorilla' revealed that he co-owns a highly successful car trading company that trades around 200 vehicles per month and outlined how far his tech company Blockasset has come.

He also mentioned his new South Africa-based fighting promotion Gorilla Fight Club. He ended by stating:

"I know you have never supported me or liked me for some reasons unknown to myself Liverpool Echo but I just thought I would be one of them young people maybe making waves as an upcoming successful entrepreneur as well as a fighter."

Darren Till promotion: What do we know about 'The Gorilla's new fight promotion?

Former UFC fighter Darren Till recently announced that he has ventured into the combat sports promotion business and launched the 'Gorilla Fight Club' alongside South African businessman and politician Duduzane Zuma.

The promotion, which Zuma will head, will reportedly focus on celebrity boxing fights and aim to feature a global roster of sportspersons, influencers, musicians, and actors on their fight cards. Gorilla Fight Club is expected to stage its inaugural event later this year where stars with millions of followers will throw down in the squared circle.

In a statement to Marina Magomedova for Telecom Asia, Darren Till outlined these points:

"Our goal is to take the brand to a global level, and with a highly qualified team on board, we have everything we need to succeed. We will have exciting events with global stars from all areas, whether they are athletes, musicians, actors, or influencers, all of them can meet in a boxing ring."

Till was released from the UFC in February upon his request. 'The Gorilla' was on a three-fight losing slide and had tasted victory only once since 2018.
