Reigning ONE flyweight world champion ‘Mighty Mouse’ Demetrious Johnson was front and center for ONE Championship’s historic on-ground United States debut a few weeks ago.

The 36-year-old MMA veteran is widely considered one of the greatest to ever do it, but what he witnessed at ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver, Colorado, was something truly special.

ONE Championship is known to celebrate various cultures by featuring talent from all over the world, and it is this diversity which is a breath of fresh air, especially among fans in America.

In a recent guest appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Johnson talked about the diverse offering ONE Championship brought to the United States.

‘Mighty Mouse’ said:

“I think to give the fans something else besides just mixed martial arts, like a Muay Thai, the submission grappling, you know you got the Ruotolo brothers, you got Mikey Musumeci, you have Rodtang, you have Stamp Fairtex. That was something great.”

But it isn’t just the multitude of cultures represented on ONE’s show that makes it special, but the actual product as well.

ONE Championship features multiple martial arts disciplines. In addition to its flagship MMA offering, the promotion also boasts of elite-level Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling, among others.

Johnson himself was able to participate in a special mixed-rules bout opposite ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon in 2022, which he won via second-round rear-naked choke submission.

Meanwhile, fans can catch Johnson’s latest world title defense and all the action at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III via replay, only on Amazon Prime Video.
