Demetrious Johnson joined the long list of fighters and analysts to praise Chingiz Allazov’s win against Superbon Singha Mawynn.

Allazov shocked the kickboxing world by knocking out Superbon at ONE Fight Night 6. ‘Chinga’ completed his journey to becoming a ONE world champion, and ‘Mighty Mouse’ believes the new featherweight king’s relationship with his coach is a significant factor. During an interview with SCMP MMA, Johnson had this to say:

“Chingiz [Allazov] vs. Superbon, I can see that he brought the fight to Superbon and never gave him a chance to get going. After the fight, listening to his speech, he said, ‘I believe I was going to win because of my coach’s game plan. This isn’t my game plan, this is my coach’s game plan.’ When you have an athlete who believes in the training and the coach’s game plan, you just have a scary opponent in front of you.”

‘Chinga’ earned his title shot after winning the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. Although Allazov was considered one of the best pound-for-pound kickboxers, he was somewhat underestimated going into his matchup against Superbon. It’s now impossible to overlook the 29-year-old after his title-winning performance.

Demetrious Johnson explains how Chingiz Allazov was successful against Superbon

Chingiz Allazov spent the first round collecting data and finding his timing against Superbon. Allazov found his opportunity in the second round and landed several clean right hands, leading to a knockout after two prior knockdowns. During the same interview with SCMP MMA, Demetrious Johnson broke down the impressive win:

“The thing he did tonight was each time Superbon was trying to respond to him, he would always throw a right hand and go inside. That was the biggest difference when he fought Superbon. It was absolutely amazing.”

Allazov’s confidence and elite skills are a problem for any future opponent. The reigning featherweight kickboxing world champion has been mentioned in rumors for potential super-fights, but the 29-year-old has plenty of challenges in his division. Only time will tell what’s next for ‘Chinga'.
