UFC veteran Diego Sanchez is scheduled to make his bare-knuckle boxing debut against former WBA super-welterweight champion Austin Trout at BKFC: Knuckle Mania 3 on February 17.

Unsurprisingly, the opening odds for the match provided to MMA Mania by BetOnline.ag have pegged Sanchez as a massive +600 underdog against the 37-year-old boxer (-1000 favorite).

However, 'Nightmare' is convinced that the odds are unfair towards him. The UFC veteran believes that Trout's years of experience in the sweet science will not translate well to bare-knuckle combat.

In a recent Instagram post, the 41-year-old fighter confidently claimed that he was going to triumph over the former world champion boxer in their upcoming fight. Diego Sanchez wrote:

"Austin might be the more experienced better boxer!?... And I know I am the better more experienced fighter! With more heart! I understand what a bone feels like ripping through flesh, I have lived it!"
"...Watch Austin’s fights he has no pressure, he only counters and jabs! He struggles with the stance change of southpaw vs southpaw!... It’s delusional to think you're going to just take off the gloves and do boxing strategies in a new space that’s not boxing dynamics! I got this! I am winning!"

Although Sanchez is an experienced MMA fighter with a 30-14 record, he has never boxed professionally. In contrast, 'No Doubt' is a seasoned pro boxer with an enviable record of 36-5-1.

Austin Trout talks about his upcoming BKFC fight against Diego Sanchez

Although fans and odds makers favor Austin Trout to easily defeat Diego Sanchez in their upcoming bare-knuckle boxing match, 'No Doubt' is not taking the match up lightly.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the 37-year-old former world champion pointed out that there were some clear differences between a traditional boxing match and bare-knuckle boxing.

He elaborates, saying that the lack of gloves in bare-knuckle events will facilitate dirty tactics like grabbing, pulling, and clinching. As per Austin Trout, if the former UFC fighter decides to make it a dirty fight, he is sure to have a long night.

However, he is making adjustments to effectively neutralize any dirty boxing tactics. 'No Doubt' said:

"Pure boxing doesn't quite make it... the fact that you don't have gloves and you can [use the hands for] holding, grabbing, grabbing and hitting and clinching, so that in itself has been an adjustment to be working on in the gym... If he [Sanchez] makes it an ugly fight, rough and tough, it's going to be a long night for me. So not only do I have to be able to neutralize that but I also need to be able to whoop his *ss if he decides to come inside and square up with me."
