Elon Musk and Joe Rogan discuss a potential flying car by Tesla

Elon Musk is a frequent guest on The Joe Rogan Experience. During an appearance in 2021, the CEO of Tesla and podcast host, Joe Rogan, discussed the possibility that his company will produce a flying car.

Rogan asked Musk for an update on the upcoming Tesla Roadster, to which the latter replied:

"We're finishing the engineering of it this year and hopefully we start shipping them next year. We're going to have to throw some rocket technology in that car."

Pressed for more details, Musk elaborated, adding:

"I want it to hover. I got to figure out how to make the thing hover without killing people. I thought maybe we could make it hover, but not too high. Maybe it could hover a meter above the ground or something like that. If you plummet, you blow out the suspension, but you're not going to die."

While the Tesla Roadster is yet to be released, the company has been taking pre-order reservations on the car since 2017. Musk has claimed that the Roadster will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 1.1 seconds with a top speed of over 250 mph.

Joe Rogan and Elon Musk discuss the possibility of humans migrating to another planet

Elon Musk is one of the richest people on planet Earth, however, that has not stopped him from envisioning a move to another planet.

During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, the CEO of Tesla discussed the possibility of homo sapiens becoming a multi-planetary species:

"It's not like attendance is mandatory here and it'll be dangerous, and people might die... Some people think that the idea is like ,'Oh, Mars is going to be an escape hatch, some luxury resort for rich people.' I'm like, 'No, it's a high probability of death relative to Earth'."

Musk continued:

"It's a long journey, food is probably not great. A lot of hard work. It sounds like you know Shackleton's ad for the Antarctic where it's like it's dangerous, it's a long journey, the food's bad, might not make it back, but if you do it'll be glorious."

As Musk points out, life expectancy on a different planet would likely significantly decrease. While he believes that the move may be necessary to ensure humans survive long-term, the dangers associated with such a move would likely deter most humans from making it.
