Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez just wrapped up. The boxing event took place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, on Dec. 7 and featured nine fights in six weight classes. This article recaps the fights and explores the complete event results.

In the main event, WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete attempted his third title defense against Oscar Valdez. The pair previously competed in August 2023, when Navarrete won by a unanimous decision to secure his first title defense.

Navarrete's recent outings saw him defend the belt with a majority draw against Robson Conceicao and lose to Denys Merinchyk in the vacant WBO lightweight title fight. On the other hand, Valdez won the interim WBO super featherweight title by defeating Liam Wilson in March.

The rematch was a completely different affair as both men started aggressively. Navarrete secured a knockdown in the closing seconds of Round 1 but Valdez survived and continued to offer resistance. Another knockdown followed in Round 4 and Navarrete steadily inched toward a finish with effective combinations. A vicious combination to the body knocked Valdez down again in the sixth round. This time, he could not answer the 10-count and Navarrete ended the rivalry with a perfect 2-0 score.

In the co-main event, WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza fought his predecessor, Robeisy Ramirez, in a bid to secure his second title defense.

Espinoza had originally won the title from Ramirez in December 2023. He successfully defended it against Sergio Chirino Sanchez by a fourth-round TKO in June. Meanwhile, Ramirez got back in the win column with a seventh-round KO of Brandon Leon Benitez at the same event.

In the rematch, Ramirez appeared better prepared for Espinoza's game and appeared to be winning most of the exchanges in the early rounds. However, Espinoza slowly found his way back into the fight and countered Ramirez effectively.

In a bizarre turn of events, Ramirez turned around and raised his hand in the opening seconds of Round 6, prompting the referee to stop the fight. He later claimed that an accidental elbow in the previous round left him with double vision.

Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez: Undercard results

Lindolfo Delgado put his undefeated record on the line against Jackson Marinez in a super lightweight bout on the main card. Both men were coming off two wins in 2024 and hoped to end the year with a 3-0 run.

In Round 5 of their fight, Delgado dropped Marinez with a vicious combination. While he answered the 10-count and resumed action, a devastating right hook to the body sent Jackson crumbling down to the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the fight.

Elsewhere, Albert Gonzalez and Kevin Mosquera defeated Gerardo Antonio Perez and Cesar Morales by unanimous decision, respectively. Meanwhile, five other fights ended via T/KO.
