Bellator contender Jeremy Kennedy is eyeing a title shot with featherweight champion Patricio Pitbull next and is happy to wait as long as possible to ensure he is next.

Kennedy is currently the No.2-ranked featherweight on the roster and is riding a three-fight win streak. 'JBC' has made an instant impact since arriving in Bellator in November 2020 and has risen to the top echelon of the rankings within five fights.

Jeremy Kennedy recently spoke to Sportskeeda's Giancarlo Aulino about fighting Patricio Pitbull next, despite rumors that the featherweight champion may be taking on bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis next:

"We've got Pitbull on the horizon and we're getting ready to dog walk him too man.... I know I'm the next guy [in line for a title shot] at 145 [pounds]... I'm ready to go as soon as they give me the green light. But if I have to wait, you know I've worked a couple of years for this title shot and I've earned it, so if I have to wait [then] that's what I'll do. No issue there. That next 145 [pound] title fight is going to include me regardless."

Jeremy Kennedy will be far less experienced in championship fights than his opponent should he face Patricio Pitbull. The featherweight champion has defended his title eight times over three separate championship reigns, as well as claiming the Bellator lightweight title in 2019 after KO'ing Michael Chandler.

However, Kennedy does not appear discouraged by his lack of championship experience and expects a one-sided affair should he face Pitbull.

Bellator CEO Scott Coker shares his thoughts on possibly signing Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou's departure from the UFC earlier this year got the attention of every major MMA promotion in the world, who now have the opportunity to sign the scariest knockout artist the sport has ever seen.

Ngannou's exit was the result of years of failed negotiations with Dana White and the UFC. The future of the former heavyweight champion is unclear, as 'The Predator' has expressed interest in competing in professional boxing too.

Bellator CEO Scott Coker recently shed light on the chances of Francis Ngannou being signed by them and noted that while it is a possibility, it doesn't seem likely.

"I've always said we would be a perfect fit for [Francis Ngannou] because he could do boxing [and] he could do MMA. But I don't think there's anything close to a deal being presented back-and-forth... It has to be equitable for everybody, that's how I feel... I would say it's 50/50 at this point."
