Dan Severn recently opened up about his WWE tenure and shared whether there was a plan in place for either a match or legitimate UFC trilogy bout between himself and fellow Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock at WrestleMania.

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Severn spoke about the unpopular Brawl For All tournament and the additional match types like the Lion's Den match, which resembled the UFC's octagon, being featured on WWE's programming.

Despite being involved in Shamrock's feud with Owen Hart, which led to a Dungeon Match at the Hart family home, he mentioned that there wasn't a plan in place for the two to wrestle or legitimately fight at WrestleMania:

"No, I mean, you would've thought that because Ken had a professional's [fighting] background, I had a professional's [fighting] background, something would've actually happened in professional wrestling really between the two of us and it really didn't." [33:10 - 33:22]

'The Beast' and 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' fought twice in the UFC, with both fighters splitting a win, so it's puzzling that WWE never capitalized and booked a program between the two former Superfight champions. The UFC Hall of Famer mentioned that WWE never really followed up on their rivalry, adding:

"It was, I will say certain things that were kinda leading to it, but it never really materialized underneath the banner of the WWF at the time, now known as WWE. [33:25 - 33:35]

Severn vs. Shamrock 3 would have been interesting if it took place under the WWE banner, especially considering that they booked a legitimate fight between their Brawl For All winner Bart Gunn and professional boxer Butterbean at WrestleMania XV.

Despite losing to Royce Gracie in the finals of the UFC 4 tournament, Dan Severn returned for the UFC 5 tournament and dominated. He won all three of his fights in less than 5 minutes to win the tournament. 'The Beast' won his second UFC tournament at Ultimate Ultimate 1995, where he defeated Paul Varelans, Tank Abbott, and Oleg Taktarov.
