After a spectacular performance that nearly scored him his first ONE world championship at ONE on Prime Video 3, Fabricio Andrade is now calling himself the uncrowned champion of the bantamweight division in a recent post on Instagram.

“Now I am officially uncrowned champion 😅”

Fans appeared to agree with Fabricio Andrade's statement on Instagram, saying:

“Told you all along uncrowned champ 😂“
“In my book your all ready 🏆 champion“
“Go champ ❤️ Go“
“u told me in Feb u will be champion and now u are , beast brother 👏“
“You a SAVAGE boy 👏“

In the card’s main event, ‘Wonder Boy’ faced John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker with the opportunity to capture his first piece of ONE Championship gold. After nearly two and a half rounds, it appeared that Andrade was just seconds away from doing just that, landing a vicious knee to the body of Lineker that stunned the former world champion.

Going in for the kill, Andrade threw another knee that unfortunately landed below the belt, making direct contact with Lineker’s groin which sent the heavy-hitter to the canvas writhing in pain. Unable to continue, the bout was called off and ruled a no-contest, leaving the ONE bantamweight division without a champion.

Fabricio Andrade unconvinced John Lineker wants to run back their ONE on Prime Video 3 fight

While the incredibly entertaining bout between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker ended with no resolution to the rivalry, it’s safe to say that ‘Hands of Stone’ walked out of the Circle that night the worse for wear. Both fighters landed big in the two and a half rounds that fans were treated to, but in the end, it was clear that Andrade had the upper hand, at least in terms of damage.

As a result, ‘Wonder Boy’ is not necessarily convinced that Lineker wants to run it back in the near future:

“ONE is interested in doing a rematch. I'm also very interested. I would like to face him again, but he came out of the fight very hurt. I don't believe he wants the rematch. But if he wants to, I don't know how long he'll need to recover and do this fight again.”

While Lineker has expressed interest in a rematch, the damage he was dealt will take a significant amount of time to recover. Undoubtedly Andrade would like to get back into the Circle and finish business as soon as possible, but it may be some time before Lineker can even be cleared to train, let alone compete.

Do you think Fabricio Andrade should face another fighter for the vacant bantamweight title or should he wait for John Lineker to be ready to go?
