Brazilian phenom ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade has revealed that he would be honored to fight live at ONE Championship’s first event in Brazil.

The Singapore-based promotion is already making headway in the United States with its first US-based show set for Broomfield, Colorado, this year. According to many athletes, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu superstar Mikey Musumeci, who teased its launch during a the post-fight interview at ONE Fight Night 6, it only makes sense to host an event in Brazil where millions of combat sports fans reside.

In addition to the new broadcast partnership between ONE and Globo’s Combate last October, there’s more reason to suspect an event in the South American nation to occur sometime this year. With that said, Brazilian superstar Fabricio Andrade would be more than honored to get a chance to fight in front of his home crowd.

Asked to share his thoughts about being on a potential Brazilian fight card, 'Wonder Boy’ told The MMA Superfan:

“I just want to be on the card. It doesn't really matter who my opponent is. I just want to be on the card and be a good fighter in my home.”

Initially scheduled to fight on February 5, the event was pushed back to Friday, February 25 to prepare a full card filled with two world title fights and four different sports on display.

MMA fans respond to Fabricio Andrade’s hard at work message

MMA fans are stoked to see Fabricio Andrade return to the circle to set things in motion once again versus longtime rival John Lineker.

Since their first match, which was declared a no contest due to an accidental foul last October, Andrade has been more focused than ever on capturing the vacant belt. He’s been working with his favorite team, Tiger Muay Thai, at their home gym in Phuket, Thailand.

Sharing the training gym with other respected world champions such as interim heavyweight and light heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin and ONE featherweight world champion Tang Kai, the Brazilian phenom is in good hands as he prepares to challenge John Lineker for the vacant ONE bantamweight belt.

Here’s how fans responded to Andrade’s recent Instagram caption, “Am work 🦾💨🔥🇧🇷🇹🇭 #oneonprimevideo7 #heaintready,” below:
