Fabricio Andrade put the mockery aside to admit that John Lineker isn’t actually afraid to step inside the cage with him.

‘Wonder Boy’ Andrade is en route to the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in a few days' time to face his long-time rival ‘Hands of Stone’ John Lineker. Their highly anticipated rematch has the entire MMA community counting down the days until two of the greatest bantamweights battle it out for the vacant title.

Ahead of the exciting match, which takes place on February 24 at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, Fabricio Andrade won’t deny that athletes get nervous in the days leading to a fight. He expects his rival John Lineker to feel the same way but understands that it won’t hinder his ability to put on a great show.

Speaking at the ONE Fight Night 7 pre-event interviews, he said:

“Man, we are fighters. Of course, there are a lot of nerves. We get nervous and have a lot of feelings before the fight, but that's what we do. He knows he has to step in a cage with me, and I think he is going to do that.”

‘Wonder Boy’ is stepping into the ring with an unbeaten ONE record of 5 straight wins since making his promotional debut against Mark Abelardo in July 2020. No one expected the young phenom to get this far, especially so early in his ONE Championship career.

Credit to his gym at the famed Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Andrade expects his well-rounded game will be sufficient enough to score him the victory and thus the belt. With one of the highest knockout rates in the division, many fans are confident Andrade will find his fifth next week.

American audiences can watch Andrade and Lineker put on the greatest show of the year on Friday, February 24, at ONE Fight Night 7. The event will be broadcast live and for free via Prime Video for North American fans with an active Amazon subscription.

Fabricio Andrade mocks John Lineker and promises to give him an unbreakable steel groin cup

Fabricio Andrade returned to Instagram to take another full swing at his rival by vowing to buy him an unbreakable steel cup for their rematch.

The first time the two Brazilians battled it out, Andrade accidentally kneed Lineker in the groin and shattered his cup upon impact. The former divisional king couldn’t get back to his feet after writhing in pain for more than five minutes.

It was later revealed that Lineker was using a foam cup during the bout. Instead of taking any more chances, ‘Wonder Boy’ said he was going to make sure his fellow countryman gets an unbreakable steel cup for their rematch. In the caption, Andrade wrote:

“There will not be any way out!! #onefightnight7 #bangkok🇹🇭 #andnew”
